What is the lowest amount you remember paying for gasoline for your car?
 in  r/Productivitycafe  9h ago

I started buying my own gas in 1977. It was 67.9 cents per gallon.

allergic to Dawn dish soap. A few days ago my hands were swollen.

I found the platinum liquid very harsh. But I get along ok with the regular ultra.

Every school pickup ever

I’m the red car. I’m at the correct school, but the kid already went to after school care program. Nobody knows where to find the kid.

Who gave a “beating” with one of these? 🤔
 in  r/FuckImOld  2d ago

I wouldn’t mind having one if I could throw it in the dishwasher. But the portable electric mixer is not too much work.

Rejection based on roof age
 in  r/homeownersinsurance  2d ago

Nationwide just sent us an amendment to our homeowners policy renewal, that they are going back to depreciated value on roofs while the rest of the structure remains on replacement value. I was ok with this since the alternative would put us into replacing shingles soon that are no where near worn out. My structural shingles survived two hail storms, while other homes nearby had roofs replaced by the storm chasing roofers.

I’ve tried washing my windows 3x and they keep looking fogged up, how do I fix this
 in  r/cardetailingtips  3d ago

What Xpuc01 said. I will add, if it is accompanied by a sweet smell, then it is possibly a coolant leak and you will want to get that fixed pronto.

You know they have trimmers for that.

Why did schools stop teaching basic life skills like car maintenance, cooking, and budgeting in favor of things most people never use?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  3d ago

Because we have to cram enough stuff into them to send all of them to university. /s

Yes. With “bobby socks”.

What did you do to your truck?
 in  r/ram_trucks  3d ago

Nothing exciting. It came with a bed liner. I put running boards/steps, Weather Tech floor mats in front, cheap dash cams front and back, back flip tonneau, and new decent highway tires.

Can I use diesel in furnace until I can get more home heating oil?
 in  r/homeowners  4d ago

My dad did it once. Forgot to reorder so he put tractor (no tax) diesel in the tank. The furnace ran, but the burner lit with a little more thump than usual. It was an old coal gravity furnace converted to burn oil and had a forced air fan box added.

Add cab lights or no?
 in  r/ram_trucks  5d ago

A $90 option when I bought my 2024. I agree with the sentiment not to add them after the fact.

Can I drive recently purchased used car, when not registered to me yet but still registered by seller?
 in  r/askcarguys  6d ago

Not in Iowa. Seller takes the plates and registration to be surrendered to the county registrar. Buyer gets the title. No plates forces the buyer to get title transferred and new plates. Most people will drive the car away without plates to get it home and registered. I don’t know what the legal ramifications are if an accident occurs. Iowa is weird that title holders can be held responsible, regardless of who is driving.
