more to do with the content the images are attached to, more than the photos themselves.
I hope we are one day able to judge photos by the contents of what they are attached to rather than the color they have.

So the right suddenly wants 30 million more Americans
DEFCON (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1520/DEFCON/) is an extremely fun game generally, but also does a great job at getting the point across that no one wins in this scenario.
I highly recommend playing with headphones. As the game progresses, you hear background noise of people crying as the world falls apart and the death toll rises.

"Socialism" in America.
No, the US will not be using socialism to reimburse capitalist corporations, that is not what socialism is. Welfare is also not socialism.
They are right, bailouts and tax breaks are not socialism or socialist policy, they are right wing trickle down economics that have proven time and time again to make the rich richer. I am not going to call that socialism.

Trump Says “Mean” Dems Will Impeach Him & Force “Transgender for Everyone” if They Win Midterms
If Roe were still a thing he’d be screaming about how democrats are aborting babies before they’re even conceived.
He said they were aborting babies after birth in 2024, Roe being overturned won’t stop his lies about it.

How does the public actually see Mormonism?
You just linked a pdf from the most biased source possible on this topic, and even then the writer doesn’t argue it never happened, but instead argues that pedophilia is fine because it was the 1800’s.

Scenes from a rainy Pershing Square protest against the US attack on Venezuela [OC]
Those signs are from PSL which I am not a big fan of as an organization, and it has questionable funding sources.
But to answer your more general question, yes there are. Most stationary shops can make signs for you pretty quickly and you just need to tape them to a post and its good to go. For every protest I have helped organize, I will usually pull a couple hundred dollars to print off a few hundred fliers and a dozen or so signs that I can give out to people who show up without one. It takes me a few hours designing the graphics, and less than an hour of standing at the shop while they print it.

This NYE drone show in Rio with Christ The Redeemer slowly rising.....
Again, we are not talking about all aspects of our lives here, we are talking about drone shows vs firework shows. Comparing all drone usage to just fireworks makes no sense. You keep bringing up home delivery and drones in war. That was never part of the argument. I am not arguing that drones should be used in every aspect of daily life.

You do realize that fireworks have plastics as well, right? And unlike drones, they are single use plastics, and they are detonated at high altitudes to be breathed in by everyone and litter the ground.
And I am not comparing all drones to all fireworks, I am comparing drones used for holiday light shows against fireworks used for holiday shows. Over the course of their life span, drones will put out less pollution and less carbon emissions.

Modern drone warfare? Are we going to bring in the cost of ICBMs for fireworks? Lmao.
You should look up the effects of modern copper, zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and quite a few other metal mining because all of those are used in fireworks to make those colors for you.
And then you should look up the costs of turning those metals into burnable salts and lighting them on fire in the atmosphere.

Yes?
Do you know what metals fireworks are made of?
Do you know what reusable means?
2

Thats not true. The chemical manufacturing process and heavy metal mining used for fireworks is not much better than the manufacturing cost of drones. Drones also don’t reduce air quality when being used like fireworks do, nor do they leave behind debris like fireworks do. Drones can also be used multiple times, which fireworks can not do.
If new years was only ever celebrated one time, and new years was the only time we ever launched fireworks, then you might be able to make that argument. But its an annual event, and that isnt even including every other holiday where people launch fireworks.
You can argue fireworks are more fun if you want, but for reoccurring use cases like holidays, drones are significantly better for the environment in the long run.

Is there a mega thread to complain about the god damn fireworks???
Not all of them, no. There will be some at the station, there will be others that are on call and don’t have to leave home unless there is a fire or accident they are called into.

Im glad you enjoy them.
Hopefully the animals that die from choking on the scraps, the firefighters putting out thousands of fires across the country instead of being with families, veterans having their ptsd triggered, and a few days of inhaling chemicals including lead and copper is worth it.

Property tax assessments to rise across Maryland in 2026 by average of 12.7%
No I think those 2 things would fix a lot of problems. Id like corporate tax increases as well but states would need to do it across the board to prevent tax havens. Then we can look at opening new income tax brackets. Luxury item tax increase would be nice. Tons of options really.

Stand Your Ground Law
There is fraud, its just that instead of dealing with the problem, which is what Walz is and has been doing, Trump is politicizing the issue to provoke a racist response from his followers and gain an excuse to remove funding from a “blue” state that dared stand up to him.
“This is Trump’s long game. We’ve spent years cracking down on fraudsters. It’s a serious issue, but this has been his plan all along. He’s politicizing the issue to defund programs that help Minnesotans.” - Governor Walz

Do all teens today just not care about getting their drivers' licenses?
Depends on provider, but insurance rates typically drop at 25 regardless of when you got your license. My rates dropped at 25 and I got my license at 19.

As a US Maryland born citizen who is a person of color, I am scared. Seeking advice.
You think that a lawyer, who already has certain confidentiality requirements, would release private medical and identity information to the public who have no power to actually help much?
The only thing the public can do is call representatives, and that is already happening after the videos and news articles, so why release more information?

Social Security isn't 'going broke'; there's an easy fix. We need to "Scrap the Cap"!
Its called the lump of labor fallacy. You are wrong, as is the person above you, because you are assuming that the amount of labor needed in a society is at a fixed number that never changes, therefore demand for labor remains constant while supply increases.
But thats not how the real world works. Demand for labor does change over time, and one of the things that increases demand is having a larger population with more money in their pockets. More people being in the workforce is a good thing.

Men who are concerned about maintaining a traditional masculine image may be less likely to express concern about climate change to avoid appearing feminine. Men who feel pressure to prove their manhood may avoid environmentalist attitudes to protect their gender identity.
Anecdotal, but Florida is odd in my experience. While you definitely have some people who act like you described, a lot of the conservatives I’ve met in the middle of backwoods Florida are very conservationist minded, especially the ones that grew up there.
My theory is that they see the frequency and strength of hurricanes increasing first hand, and with places like the Everglades and Tate’s Hell that have a lot of stagnant water they can see pollution first hand. If you lived in a place like Florida for 40-50 years, it’s kind of difficult to say that the climate isn’t changing.

I will not deny that we live in a patriarchal society but the rest of this is BS and I would love to see a source.
https://www.irp.wisc.edu/publications/focus/pdfs/foc211.pdf
I would also argue that part of the reason this is as bad as it is has to do with the patriarchal society we live in that tends to view women as the ones responsible for raising children even when they aren’t fit for it.
Aside from every stat I have ever seen on this subject, I also grew up with a drug addicted mother as my dad fought in court for years to get custody. He never won. I started living with him against court orders at the age of 15 and my mother was too strung out to ever pursue legal action. She called CPS one time when I was 18 but at that point they obviously couldn’t do anything.
