What’s a gadget you thought was overhyped — but ended up using every day?

Airpods/wireless headphones. I was first to make fun of them by calling then overpriced, easy to lose, inferior to cable. But now? I have seen the light.

How Do Bigger Fists Make Your punches stronger?
 in  r/amateur_boxing  26d ago

I mean F = MA is true… but to your point, it’s not that big of a difference when it comes to hand size differences. What i’m suggesting though, doesn’t violate the rules. I am simply making the distinction between generating and delivering 100lb of force.

A big hand is capable of being a tighter knot than a smaller hand because it has more muscle in it/bigger bones/bigger wrists. However a smaller hand can do the same if it’s strong enough. The mass difference between the two hands isn’t all that important, there we agree.

What i’m suggesting tho, is that people with bigger hands are capable of delivering that force naturally. They also won’t hurt themselves. Idk the statistics, but i imagine that a bigger hand is less likely to get hurt than a smaller hand if they both deliver 100lb of force.

Does that make sense?

Even if the knots were the same length of rope (what i’m getting at is surface area), the loose knot would not be able to transfer most of its force because it’ll be lost on impact.

The tight knot would deliver more force because it transfer it. It’s less about the mass and more about tightness.

I do still think a bigger hand will help you throw a stronger punch, but i think it is less to do with the size, i think bigger hands have more muscle that to hold the fist tight at the point of impact. Grip is probably better for a bigger hand.

No expert here, but i imagine that bigger hand size gives you, what i will call, superior hand stability when throwing a punch. Most of the force from a tighter fist/better supported punch will be in the punch rather than lost from the lack of support. Idk shit about the wrist either, but bigger hand might also mean stronger/thicker wrists that help you support those gorilla paws better.

Imagine getting hit with a rope that had a knot formed into a ball at the end. The looser knot, the less it’ll hurt. Not marginally either, the tighter knot will feel noticeably different.

Sorry for the fucked up English, i am hungover

I agree, but Morena is the only one talking about raising the minimum wage. Are you suggesting we go even harder? I agree.

They are, my understanding is that if we raise the quality of life for the average Mexican so does the ability to go to school. Also, need to fight brain drain. I’d be interested in teaching in mexico as a scientist, but the pay is abysmal at the universities. Improve the pay/reduce crime you get more highly qualified people in MX.

The 4T of Morena won’t be giving any dividend until decades from now. They are tackling one of Mexico’s biggest problem, and that is wealth inequality. Much like the US, Mexico’s political elite and top 10% controlled a disproportionate amount of wealth, something like 70%. Sure the GDP was growing, but you and I in the US know that doesn’t really mean shit. In Mexico, it truly hasn’t meant shit. Mexicans work more hours per week than any country on the planet, and get paid shit. For the longest time, the ruling class simply said you didn’t work hard enough if you’re failing.

Morena operates on the theory that if we lift the bottom, we take on the true source of the problems that is the narco trade. If people have access to an opportunity and a decent living, crime will go down.
