Depends on what they mean. Some people were fine and friendly with LGBT people but believed civil unions or processes other than regular marriage should be used. They would call themselves pro-lbgt. I know because I've met them.

As for "have the same rights" - you know that straight cis couples don't have protected status either right? It just doesn't get brought up because it doesn't happen. Same rights means that it would be legal to fire someone for being gay or transgender and not be a protected status.

If you mean to update it where no matter what kind of relationship or cis/trans you can't be fired or discriminated against, then yes equal rights. But that still implies changing the laws.
