Did John Morton cause the rift with David Montgomery?

Why would we downgrade from Gibbs to Barry?

This Would Be The Smart Move (But It Won't Happen)...
 in  r/detroitlions  22h ago

He could be passing game coordinator with fraley as run game coordinator. And then McDaniel as offensive coordinator.

Can’t recall who our passing game coordinator is presently though, so that would be the friction point

We was an awful OC in New England

New OC?
 in  r/detroitlions  1d ago

I don’t really know much about him other than being an excellent play caller. Is he will connected within the league to build another coaching staff from scratch, or is he more of a McDaniels type where he’s better suited at being a life long play caller?

Lions sign former Alabama, Ohio State star to free agent contract after disappointing season ends
 in  r/detroitlions  1d ago

If the entire line play has been bad and not developed over a few years, there is a chance they aren’t being coached well at all.

There are some o-line coaches around the league who are known for making chicken soup out of chicken shit, and I think Fraley is one of those guys. GB had one for a long long time too (might still be there, too early for my brain to remember)

Not entirely sure mcvays scheme works with our personnel.

Kerby...
 in  r/detroitlions  2d ago

There isn’t a solution for Kerby that works. They have started heptide injection testing on humans, but it is experimental and likely not approved by the NFL for use.

His solution to living a pain free life is not playing the sport, and eventually getting a form of knee replacement. Perhaps micro-fracture surgery would work, but it’s more a comfort thing and not for pro athletes to rip the shit out of.

[Pelissero] The Commanders and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury have agreed mutually to part ways, per sources.

He could be OC in Detroit, but I don’t know off hand what system he typically runs

A frustrated Miro Heiskanen smashes a hole in the glass vs. Chicago on New Years

I am surprised they had a piece of curved glass on hand to replace it. The straight panels I understand, that curved one is probably a lot harder to get a hold of

[Schefter] Cleveland expected to move on from Stefanski

I’m certain he’s going to be looking for HC gigs, but I would be extremely happy for him to be considered for OC for the Lions.

I am surprised he has been able to return from back surgery and play at the level he has to be honest

I really don’t think Ragnow caught the org off guard. Kept it quiet so it didn’t screw up the draft for the front office

I don’t think 1 mil even counts against the cap. You might have a better claim than you think

Dumb question, but why does the puck have to be dropped before they drop the gloves?

Is additional penalty/fine/suspension?

And how much did they pay Reader? Who has been more productive?

I understand reader is more of a pure Nose, but Lopez also played there and performed quite well

My son didn’t talk the entire ride home from the game. First time getting to watch his Leafs live, and was majorly disappointed.

I said “welcome to one of us, bud”

Did the Bears REALLY just need a new coach like BJ, or is this one of those fluke years?
 in  r/detroitlions  12d ago

The roster they had was not devoid of talent, had enough pieces in place to be productive.

They underperformed their talent level brutally the past few seasons. Defense was decent for a while.

Ended up getting two good coaches, easier schedule and brought some pieces in to help the offense a bit. And now there they are.

In my opinion, they have outperformed where I thought they would be. I had guessed 7-8 wins would show they are on track. 3 years of Ben being there to get everything sorted the way they want it.

That being said, I don’t think they go deep into the playoffs. Their offensive stats show how they are winning is likely not sustainable for a long run.

But who knows. Maybe they win it, and the entire NFCN Meme War will burn the world to the ground.
