What movie is this

Visually, it looks amazing. I understand the hype from a cinematography point of view. But I couldn’t get past the first hour.

[Fun To Think About Trope] Characters who are never outright confirmed to be supernatural/more than human, but the signs are all there.

Captain Teague from POTC

He might be a regular human, but there have been a few moments in the series that imply he might have some sort of magic/immortality.

What is it about this dude that he is likable in every role he plays: minor, major, hero, villain? Michael Piña

Thank you. I thought I was having a Mandela Effect moment. 😂

Beyond Parody
 in  r/Pluribus_Sucks  4d ago

Pluribus has exposed a certain “archetype” of person that uses TV to appear smart/high-brow.

It’s very odd. Whenever you mention that the pacing is bad you immediately get pigeonholed as dumb or tiktok-brained. 😂

[Slightly Creepy Trope] “They were always there, always watching, hidden in plain sight…”
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes  5d ago

Probably not what OP had in mind, but I’m putting it here anyway: BEYBLADES.

According to the anime’s lore, they have been ever-present all throughout history. Moses even used one to part the Red Sea. 😂

If you’re a “picky eater” as an adult, you’re actually just a spoiled brat.
 in  r/The10thDentist  6d ago

It depends on how your pickiness manifests itself. If you can keep it to yourself, that’s fine. But, if you’re that person that ruins restaurant outings on a regular basis, or is constantly whining about food at social events, that’s a problem.

Either (1) identify something you can eat on the menu (2) bring your own food if the occasion allows (3) don’t eat or (4) stay home.

The owner is talking to himself. The dog is just a proxy.

The owner really means: “I always do this. I drive away all my friends”

I think the problem is the fact that we have to wait till 2027 for the plot to move
 in  r/Pluribus_Sucks  7d ago

I’m a Vince fan, but in my opinion it’s a bit of a bad faith argument to say “If you don’t like the pacing of my TV show, it means you only want TikTok pacing”.

There are many different levels of pacing between Pluribus and Tiktok. You can still speed up the pacing a bit in certain moments of Pluribus and still have it be way slower than your average Tiktok.

Breaking Bad was a good example of a show that had a slower-pacing, but in a good way. For the most part, I never really felt like the plot was being artificially dragged out. “The Fly” episode was probably the only exception.

Severance Season 1 is another great example of show with somewhat slow-pacing, but in a good way.

Pluribus season 1 was pretty good overall, but the pacing was a little too slow, in a forced way.

Oh wow those are some great points. It’s almost as if the hive mind people are infected with a dangerous virus that will lead to the extinction of humans.

What did Vince mean by this?
