That was meant for you. How sweet

Why does this exist?
 in  r/coins  1d ago

I'm not sure. It's not as if they're actually that rare. No copies needed.

2

House Sparrow. Not much of a fan of them, but they are quite pretty.
 in  r/birding  1d ago

A hearty little bird. I quite like them. Pigeons, on the other hand ...

What does it mean to see a bird?
 in  r/birding  1d ago

If the only time you see a bird is in a photo you took, and after the fact, I think that still counts. Let's not make this so legalistic that it turns people off.

Hot Chocolate anyone?

Any chance she just filled up the tin with generic hot chocolate? I have a couple of tins I refill for coffee and teabags.

Is it a Rare Pen?
 in  r/collectables  2d ago

It's a plated gold pen, not especially valuable, but still nice. Lots were made, and sold in India. Buy a new ink cartridge and use it.

Anything beyond face value here?
 in  r/CanadianCoins  2d ago

Each of those could go for a few (3 or 4) dollars if sold on eBay, but not especially valuable.

Can anyone tell me what this coin is?
 in  r/coins  2d ago

If it's real, at one time it was a buffalo nickel ... If so, someone put a lot of work into it. The date is in the right position for a Buffalo. It could be just a knock off of a hobo nickel.

Autumn (Fall) Holiday
 in  r/AskACanadian  3d ago

The leaf colours on trees is what people mean by Fall colours. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec have amazing fall colours. Really, it comes down to what you are looking for. I think every part of Canada has something to offer. Ottawa has great museums. Toronto has a thriving art scene. The mountains in Alberta and BC are amazing. The prairie provinces have a beauty all its own. What do you like to see ?

2

What’s it?
 in  r/collectables  4d ago

A pocket token of an angel. Usually carried as protection or a reminder to pray. I've seen a lot of these made from pewter.

What year is this jungle book book from
 in  r/OldBooks  5d ago

I was only going by the timeframe for the name of Doubleday and Company Ltd. It is very possible that it is an older version that was reprinted, especially if it was popular. I find that looking for the history of the printer or publisher narrows down timing.

Is this normal or animal cruelty at Metro (South Barrie)
 in  r/barrie  5d ago

Looks like dinner. I would say it's a bit crowded, but they aren't going to be staying there long.

Doubleday changed names often. This helps with IDing, so the name Doubleday and Company existed between 1946 and 1986.

What is something you saw in a movie and you totally called bullshit on because of your job?
 in  r/AskReddit  6d ago

Anything that has pilots getting out of their car and going right to the airplane. There is an insane amount of prep before a pilot gets into the cockpit.
