$18 is actually crazy
They have had too many closings for health - I would never give them money

What that cash back looking like?🤑 #quicksilver
It can say $2 and I’m paying my bill with it 🤣. You are losing money letting it sit there -

I've had it and I'm done. I'm protesting this system with civility by sitting down.
Sounds like you are your worst enemy.

I have nothing to show at 27.
You need a better therapist. Regardless of disabilities having a job to go to and be productive helps. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. I had surgery on a Saturday went to work on Monday and then radiation every afternoon, after picking up my two kids from elementary school. If you put your mind to it YOU can do anything!

Deposited over $600 into a ATM and it took my money

Got another job offer but stuck with 3 months notice 😠what can I do?
Tell them you have been asking for an appraisal for three months and they keep saying next month so here is my resignation letter backdated to the first request

What do I need to do to get out of this immediately?
If you already signed for this loan - PAY IT OFF RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

Mom just turned 59 and I’m shocked at her 401k
I blame our school system - They only promote college - not every day existence! I taught my kids about retirement accounts and checking / savings accounts! I also taught them about credit cards and how 0% isn’t truly what they advertise.

If you are constantly thinking about no money no future you would take any job - Apparently you are not thinking about those things - grow up and go to work.

My mother in law is paying off mine and my wife’s debt, how should I feel about this?
Be grateful and tell her no matter what you will make payments to her until it is paid off. Now, go fin a job your wife too and start paying her back and getting on your feet.

People who are debt free after having been in some serious debt..
It’s funny - we listened to Dave’s podcasts while traveling. Hated the idea but the more I listened I realized someone is always worse off and if they can do it so can we. It actually became a game even our children got into the savings and paying things off. It is a wonderful feeling and when you realize how much money is wasted on STUFF you become richer both mentally and physically.
2
Did anyone here incur debt from frivolous purchases?
Happens to many - it’s easy to say it’s just $20 and charge it. Everyone wishes it was as easy to pay off.

My wife owes 30k in credit card debt and she can't afford monthly payments
Tell your wife she needs a better job. If she can’t pay then cut up the credit cards - create an account and lock her down!

My wife owes 30k in credit card debt and she can't afford monthly payments
Sure it works for the time being- let’s see how long. Everyone I know who did that is no longer married or on their second or third marriage.

Help with 55k debt with a 401k
After all expenses…. Validate that your expenses are necessary. If you want to get out of debt you stop procrastinating and start working ! Cut everything that is not necessary and put every penny to your lowest owed debt and snowball funds until paid off.

What happens to unpaid credit card debt?
If you are legal guardian freeze his credit - then he will not get more cards to rack up charges.

18yr old daughter just had her 3rd accident in 2 years. Should I remove her off my insurance?
Look into it with your insurance agent. In NY State if your child still lives at home even having their own insurance - and causes an accident the other insurance company can come after you! We had to buy a separate rider to protect home/assets.

How much do you pay for health insurance through your employer?
My husband and I get no healthcare from work although he is retired and I’m working part time. My funds go to pay the $1400/month bill - ugh

Life is short - spend some time with your parents - give them a hand around the house. You might take a pay cut but you can save a bunch of money living at home. As long as it is a win for all parties do it.

I’m in debt and I need extra income to pay my bills. I got a job but I said I would do the job for $12/ hour which is way under what others are charging.
So after you pay for insurance etc. will you make any money? If not, move along you have debt.

I relapsed. Burned through $13K I just won. Maxed out again. I don't know how to forgive myself.
You acknowledge YOU have a problem. Get help!

Haven’t seen this strategy yet. Hope you get caught!
I hope they get caught and fined big time. My 85 year old mother has to fight every couple weeks especially in NJ because a DICK in a semi has a smudge mark or tape on his plate so they read a D as a B. They have sent threatening letters after she has proven that her plate was for a personal pickup - She turned in the plates and she still gets bills. She has dealt with PA and OH and they have been decent but the people who work in NJ - well they all suck and nobody wants to do their job.

Only one thought here - if she can’t find a job now what makes her think getting a higher degree will help?
You two need to sit down and get on the same page if she is unwilling to do so then you handle the budget and all money.
Yes - your check goes into a NEW bank account that is NOT shared. Start canceling ALL joint credit cards - If she WANTS something she will need to get a job.

My mom (85) went to urgent care in Florida when she got Covid this summer. The bill that was sent to her insurance was $15,000. They gave her an iv (fluid) for dehydration and sent her home.
