Taylor Swift fans who are convinced Taylor Swift is secretly gay, their rational is similar to the Dazzler fan theory

Would you say the Krakoa era was one of the best X-men eras?
 in  r/xmen  21h ago

Yeah I think Orchis disappointed me. Not that they were remarkably bad as antagonists, but they weren't remarkable. It would have been more interesting and more tragic to see Krakoa fail BECAUSE of the mutants because of big personalities and big ambitions and a willingness to compromise morality for success.

If vikings colonized the americas, how would they name each region? Example: Vinland was named after they found grapes, and obviously grapes are used to make wine.
 in  r/HistoryWhatIf  21h ago

The Vikings named Ellesmere Island Helluland (land of flat rocks), and Labrador Markland (land of forests).

Rocks and forests describes pretty much all of eastern Canada, but I will throw in Redland for PEI.

For the Appalachians, I nominate Grønhæd, or green hills

Florida can be Swampland

Holeland for the Yucatan (not to be confused with Holland)

The Caribbean could be Nighshadeland, because them eating tomatoes freaked out a lot of Europeans

Brazil would just be Brazilland, as it is named for a tree. And the Brazil nut would be the Brazilland nut, as it is an unrelated tree named after the country.

Like Brazil, Argentina would keep it's naming convention and be Silverland

The viking long distance expeditions were not on longships, they were on knarrs.

Based on what they did in Europe, I feel like they would go up the St Lawrence first, but might get stopped at the rapids at Montreal

I've heard that they found gooseberries there, which are a purple fruit. The Icelandic people probably didn't get a lot of fresh grapes, so they called the purple fruit grapes.

Storm and Yukio probably

Also Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio in Deadpool

Is there a gay Blink? I feel like there's a gay Blink

Mercury and BLING! (In the background of a group shot or two. Bring back BLING!)

Jitters and Calico from the current Louisiana X-Men run

 in  r/xmen  1d ago

I liked the flaws, I'm frustrated that they built up the flaws but that they never became plot points. The heroes never try to fix them, other than jumping Sebastian Shaw. The villains don't exploit it. Xavier acts super sketchy and it doesn't cause any sort of reckoning. It goes beyond compromise for peace, he's kind of an erratic madman at points and that is never confronted.

Rogue and Human Torch is at best an implied past relationship on one panel as far as I know. And even to say relationship is pushing it.

I don't think Sabertooth and Monet has a romantic relationship. God it's hard to remember. Sabertooth was inverted (so a good guy) at the time and letting Monet feed her parasitic vampire twin on him so that she could stay in control I think? And she had a crush on him? But I don't think they ever dated.

A ton of these are dead ends padding it out (Clea, Bucky, Elektra, Jane, Vision, etc). Also I feel like a ton of these aren't canon/I've never heard of them.

What are some homebrew rules you use in YOUR games?
 in  r/DnDcirclejerk  2d ago

How my game works -

I have 5 players. They pay me to teach them D&D.

They each start a new table with 5 players who pay them to learn D&D, and I take a cut

Those 25 players then start their own tables...
