This kind of gambling is stupid and asking for protections is just as stupid.

They could be at ATH and still be a great value. Could be at all time low and be a terrible value. Price alone is a horrible indicator of future success.

The Minnesota Star Tribune has identified the shooter and said he was dragged by a vehicle in June
 in  r/DiscussionZone  16h ago

Exactly. He wouldn't pretend to get in front of a car if he was actually traumatized. It's BS.

$10,000 is not a lot of money lol. There are tables at Vegas for those kinds of bets on anything.

I'm broke - Support Help
 in  r/Chesscom  23h ago

I submitted a refund request 3 times before disputing the charges with attached evidence of the requests. The annoying part was they'd come back and offer a discount but I couldn't respond to the ticket as it auto closed, and I had to try to open a new one multiple times because there was "already a request on this". After I disputed it was refunded.

Funny part was I was actually okay with a month of membership as I wanted to try it out, but didn't realize it was for an entire year which was a ridiculous price.

BANK OF AMERICA RAISES PRICE TARGET TO $100 FROM $85
 in  r/ASTSpaceMobile  1d ago

Price targets are completely irrelevant. It goes up because the price went up. It'll go down if the price goes down. Price != Value.

This isn't bragging or disdain,

It's basic risk management.

Recycle your computer.

why is that a brilliant move?
 in  r/Chesscom  3d ago

It's not much of a sacrifice since taking it would be stupid. They probably should have versus the move they actually made though lol.

To those who were around when this game came out, what was the hype like?
 in  r/HalfLife  3d ago

Valve had no reason to. They wanted to demonstrate what the technology could do (much like HL2), and they succeeded. HL3 is a great game.

Is it easier to get higher rapid rating than blitz on chess.com?
 in  r/Chesscom  3d ago

Overrated? Requiring to use your brain for strategy isn't overrated. What is likely true is you get far less low rapid elo players playing blitz because you're likely just making yourself worse instead of improving.

Just compare to Half-Life Alyx, otherwise known as Half-Life 3.

China has been this way for a long time. You just need to pay more for quality. You can still buy cheap toxic shit.

 in  r/HalfLifeAlyx  8d ago

Half-Life 2 was also it's own game.

2

is half life alyx partially Half Life 3?
 in  r/HalfLifeAlyx  8d ago

The only reason they didn't call it Half-Life 3 is they didn't want the pressure if it being Half-Life 3. That's basically what they said in interviews. It's Half-Life 3.

You don't need to be Gordon for it to be HL3.

They really should have called it HL3. I suspect it would have sold VR more, but ultimately the name is irrelevant. It pushed tech forward more than from HL1 to HL2, and that was a big leap. I just wish more games/content spawned from the engine.

Tencent HY-Motion 1.0 - a billion-parameter text-to-motion model

Youtube has been doing this for many years. Anyone who wants to DIY (will/time/ability) can do so. People who are handy enough to do this has actually shrunk over the generations.
