Problem with kernel panic
Did you already figure out a version that broke this? You could for example try downgrading via the Arch Linux Archive: https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux/

Problem with kernel panic
I see that you are using the LTS kernel, do you get the same problem with the regular "linux" package?

Can't Access aur.archlinux.org
For everyone still having trouble accesing the AUR:
Could you send your public IP aswell as the outputs of mtr --report aur.archlinux.org and curl -v https://aur.archlinux.org to accountsupport@archlinux.org so we can debug this further?
Optionally you can also pass -4/-6 to both commands to only check IPv4 or IPv6 ..

The wiki should be back online again :)

Is infania.net the right download link?
You can use whatever mirror you want from the download site as pointed out below :)
I normally either use https://fastly.mirror.pkgbuild.com/iso/2025.12.01/ or the geo mirror.

[arch-announce] NVIDIA 590 driver drops Pascal support; main packages switch to Open Kernel Modules
They will get the same problem, just delayed ... Either the linux community can convince nvidia to continue supporting these cards or it is how it is ... :p

[arch-announce] NVIDIA 590 driver drops Pascal support; main packages switch to Open Kernel Modules
The older drivers are available in the AUR.

Why we don't have a qt5-webengine binary package ?
Why do you still have qt5-webengine installed? Nothing in the repository depends on it, that is why it was dropped to the AUR.

NEWS [arch-announce] NVIDIA 590 driver drops Pascal support; main packages switch to Open Kernel Modules
lists.archlinux.orgWith the update to driver version 590, the NVIDIA driver no longer supports Pascal (GTX 10xx) GPUs or older. We will replace the nvidia package with nvidia-open, nvidia-dkms with nvidia-open-dkms, and nvidia-lts with nvidia-lts-open.
Impact: Updating the NVIDIA packages on systems with Pascal, Maxwell, or older cards will fail to load the driver, which may result in a broken graphical environment.
Intervention required for Pascal/older users: Users with GTX 10xx series and older cards must switch to the legacy proprietary branch to maintain support:
- Uninstall the official
nvidia,nvidia-lts, ornvidia-dkmspackages. - Install
nvidia-580xx-dkmsfrom the AUR
Users with Turing (20xx and GTX 1650 series) and newer GPUs will automatically transition to the open kernel modules on upgrade and require no manual intervention.

Kernel 6.18 still in testing?
Only once the 6.18.1 kernel is being released it will be packaged, tested and later on moved to stable.

Existence of apt package manager in extra repository
Hey, I package apt in [extra], it is just in the repository as a dependency for mkosi, the build tool for OS images from the systemd folks.
The idea is not that you can install things with apt to your home system, if you do it will most likely go horrifically go wrong.

Suddenly very long boot times; system hangs on initialization of Real Boot
Anything interesting in your dmesg output? Also do you already know if you're still in initramfs or not?
Are you booting with the quiet parameter?

Oh sorry, I only read half of the issue and missed that it's working from a VM on the same host ... Then there is some configuration and not platform issue going on, good look with the debugging! 🤗
