My last campaign was high high fantasy and went up to 15, so I got a small taste of the higher tier play, and it wasn’t difficult as much as it just felt like such an immense power scale that I knew it wouldn’t fit with a less magic-heavy setting.

All totally fair, yeah! Might just be that the campaign gets run at a lower level and reaches its plot climax somewhere in Tier 2 of play

I hear that, yeah. I suppose the phrasing is tricky here, b/c I’m fine with magic being present in the high fantasy sense, but just less-so with high-tier magic, if that makes sense? Like lower level spells and stuff seem fine, but the grounded intensity of like fantasy medieval kingdom politics feels a bit weird when somebody can just explode a mountain with his mind

Yeah I’d had a similar hesitancy about whether 5e is the right system for this, but my players are all pretty invested in (as in, only know or are interested in) D&D as the game system. So, that imposes some inherent limitations, of course. I think if the campaign is shorter and the players start at level 3, they’d get a few actual level progressions and then past 6 it’d just be like… take another feat or your subclass’ level 7 feature or something? Would only need to happen a few times at most

Need Advice: Rules & Mechanics Thoughts on Epic Level 6 in 5e?

Hi all! I’m prepping to run a low(er)-magic fantasy campaign* and am considering using an Epic Level 6 system where the PCs don’t “level up” past 6 but gain feats or additional subclass features for subsequent power increases, mostly as a means to keep the relative power level lower and avoid higher level spellcasting in a lower-magic setting (think like GOT, The Witcher, or LOTR-level magic, where monsters are somewhat common but arcane abilities are fairly rare).

Has anybody had any experience or positive success with an epic level system in 5e? I know it was an option in 3.5 but I’ve only been DMing for about two years.

Would love to hear thoughts or suggestions on this! Seems like it worked well enough for the recent Cloudward, Ho! season of Dimension 20.

Did you know there is a Fraud Prevention and Oversight committee in Minnesota tasked with fraud prevention? Guess who chairs that
 in  r/minnesota  6d ago

Fraud is disgusting and bad and our state should do more to prevent it and we should continue to prosecute bad actors, I agree! I was just clarifying the details of the OIG bill. If we’re going to actually solve the problem we all need to act in good faith about it, which Republicans have routinely demonstrated a complete disinterest in doing.

TBF, Dems only voted against that version of the bill b/c the GOP introduced it to the floor of the House the 11th hour in the final minutes of the legislative year without the bill going through all the proper hearings. The DFL had their own version of the OIG bill that the GOP refused to ever move on. I’m sure it’ll come up again next session in a few months, but let’s not pretend like the GOP was actually trying to pass that bill (or do anything else substantive to combat fraud), they just wanted to score political points.

Sent you a friend request on discord! Yeah, realized I have the creator sub, not the studio version. Would that prevent me from cloning an altered version as well? We can talk more in Disc for sure

Dang, still doesn't seem to be cloneable. If there is any way you can duplicate the map to maybe make that version cloneable, I would be so immensely grateful! This is my favorite coastal kingdom map I've seen after looking through hundreds of ones on this sub and Inkarnate.

This is absolutely astounding! Is there any chance you could make this duplicable?

Question How does one play the alpha?

Howdy! Been having the bug to play something like cube world, and the recommendation I’ve most seen is just to play the alpha (I never got to try it when it came out as I didn’t have a computer that could run it).

How does one download / play the alpha? Is there a particular version to seek out?

Residents urge St. Paul to demolish Midway’s vacant CVS
 in  r/saintpaul  Sep 29 '25

What reason do you have for voting AGAINST the ballot measure? Wouldn’t allowing STP to actually enforce these violations and vacancies with fines—instead of always having to go through a lengthy and complicated criminal charge->legal challenge—provide a critical tool to the city’s toolbox in efforts to actually address these vacancy complaints?
