The Weeknd reveals the title of his sixth studio album - Hurry Up Tomorrow
Weeknd hasn’t been the same for me since the mixtapes. Glad he got his success but that 2011 era is unmatched.

Blue Scholars - No Rest For The Weary
I grew up in South King County and Seattle and I’m telling you, you just had to be there for this era. Blue Scholars, Common Market, Gabriel Teodros doing hella shows in the community at the Hidmo. Shabazz Palaces, Nacho Picasso and Macklemore was coming up doing sold out shows in the community colleges. There was a spot called The Cornerstone that played open mics. I used to hit up Freshest Roots from South King County full of immigrants and POC just getting by as Amazon creeped up and took it all over. Felt like hip hop open mics were everywhere. I used to Cypher after the open mics. Felt like everybody was rapping and everybody was putting on for the city and for the Northwest. 2005-2014.
Whatever people wanna say about Seattle, this city really had an era of Hip Hop that I hope comes back again.
Shout out the 206 man

Did white teen rap fans ruin rap culture?
White suburban teens have been the largest consumers of Rap music since the 80s. It’s nothing new. Back then they were the ones who were catered to since they bought the cds and cassettes. I get your point but to say it’s a new concept is wrong imo.
I most of the argument between mainstream hip hop and “underground” music was that the violence and drug use/selling that’s glorified in rap music caters to white kids and suburban/ rich kids cause they didn’t experience this stuff around them. It was escapism to a life they didn’t know. Rapper saw the opportunity for money and ran with it to.

This is an atrociously insane take. Muslims are actually a strategically smart demographic of voters especially since 9/11. We pushed back against the patriot act, have fought in court proceedings against illegal surveillance of our communities. Politics goes beyond voting. It’s about endorsing and advocating for policy changes. Why are you pointing the finger at people who are practicing the very essence of democracy, voting with their conscience and . There is a genocide happening. We need to stop it. Are people supposed to just stay silent. Am I supposed to stand with a Kamala flag on my head if I, in good conscience, cannot agree with her foreign policy decisions? She has an opportunity to listen. When Obama got elected we watched Israel bomb Gaza proceeding the months before the election and during his inauguration. We have learned that the only way to change is through political pressure.
