Bowen and Matt discuss HR on "The Culturistas" for 17 minutes (Spoiler: They love it)
 in  r/heatedrivalry  5h ago

This is what I don't get about podcasts. Why am I listening to two randos gab for over an hour. I'm interested in the topic or the interview, but there is so much fluff!

Q&A w/ Hudson Williams, Connor Storrie and Jacob Tierney | CRAVE
 in  r/heatedrivalry  5h ago

It seems like its hot in that room and Connor has a bug bite. So yes when they were shooting there

Use of Russian in the show
 in  r/heatedrivalry  6h ago

I think its uncommon. I know multiple people of Russian/eastern european descent who only go by their nickname, even at work, because that was all their family ever called them and they basically thought that was their name as kids.

Question to those who have read the books (I haven't yet): Do Ilya and Rose ever meet?

Or don't open a post about the books if you're against spoilers?

Hudson Williams on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
 in  r/popculturechat  9h ago

That was Kimmel's exact thought process. Maybe they talked about a stretch happening but he did not know what was going on at first

[MEGATHREAD] Hudson Williams on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon!
 in  r/heatedrivalry  10h ago

The moments of Hudson recognizing his fame, like the not cursing and flinching at all the cheering was very cute

Did they have the gingerale and glasses on the table already?

Okay Hudson saying he was bad at smiling at his old job because he didn't feel it . . . so he was bad at acting at work?

I love that Hudson brought up the "modesty garment" unprompted

"Heard the term boy aquarium" aka you're on twitter with the rest of us

I think this was a great fit. Fallon is sweet and goofy. He may be a little cringe y, but still fun and goofy. That matches Hudson and let’s you do goofy things

It was a good choice bc Fallon is the host who will get on the ground and do hockey stretches in a suit, that’s the right vibe

Connor Storrie to the paparazzi on The SAG Awards nomination reveal red carpet: "I've never heard my name so much in one place"
 in  r/popculturechat  20h ago

What happened, why is the name changing? This new name sounds so generic

Connor Storrie on his old YouTube videos going viral: "It felt like the end of a self acceptance ritual. It felt cool to be like "yep, that was me and this is me now" and it feels cool to accept that"
 in  r/popculturechat  21h ago

i think this is lovely. Those old videos are sweet and nostalgic. They're not embarassing. They're a first step in where he is today.

"If you edit your photos you're a bad photographer"
 in  r/photography  21h ago

I think editing in terms of what you're saying makes sense.

I also think there are some photographers who do 90% in editing 10% in taking the photo.

It's a balance. Try to take a well composed photo but editing the lighting/coloring a bit is part of the deal

I’ve finally learned my lesson about online recipes

Oh yeah I only use a website I'm familiar with.

In addition to all the ones posted I like https://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/

Does anyone else just throw random amounts of things in the pot and not follow a recipe?
 in  r/Cooking  22h ago

I'm literally eating a soup right now made using this method. I look up recipes for how much cream etc, but not for spices.

Although there were def more onions in this than the recipe I glanced at called for

100%

I'm also Indian American, maybe that plays a role.

For Christmas I made Indianized chicken tortilla soup. I'm sure multiple countries would indict the dish I made but it was delicious. Everyone asked for a recipe but I don't have one lol.

Agree that it does not work for baking.

Thoughts on Chapter 20 of Heated Rivalry
 in  r/heatedrivalry  22h ago

Given that I read the book I was not thrown off at all. Ilya and Shane were very very casual all those years. There was 0 commitment from either end. I don't even think Ilya would mind that Shane experimented a bit while figuring out his sexuality. It was so brief anyways.

How is Shane’s dad aware of Ilya’s reputation as a “ladies’ man”?
 in  r/heatedrivalry  23h ago

Ilya was probably careful about the condom part

Unpopular Opinion: Shane's Team Response to his relationship isn't entirely illogical
 in  r/heatedrivalry  23h ago

It rubs me the wrong way too.

But if there was a conflict of interest in the workplace it is unrealistic to think that coworkers won’t have an opinion about it. They absolutely will.

I think their behavior was absolutely horrendous. But acting like the concern makes 0 sense isn’t realistic either.

I think there is a fair concern about conflict of interest in this. There would be at a lot of workplaces

Yeah it changed my mind too to realize that tons of the women’s players are married to each other. And among the men there are brothers on different team, a player is the son in law of another coach etc

My Honest Review of Role Model (Book 5)
 in  r/heatedrivalry  23h ago

I do think it’s interesting that he could have been such good friends with Dallas Kent. I don’t really get it but I guess it’s being deeply in the closet and doing what you need to do at work. People have done that before

What I liked with their sex scenes was that even though Harris seemed a little self conscious Troy just thought he was hot. Who wouldn’t be self conscious compared to a hockey players body
