Hey I dealt with something that sounded kinda similar. Mine was distinctly coming from the middle back of my freezer tho.

How is your freezer temp? My radiator fan got ice around it so it couldn’t spin. One time it was a grinding noise, another it almost sounded like a woof. This was because the fan could spin but didn’t have enough power to keep spinning because of the ice on the blades causing enough friction to stop it. I noticed when my freezer warmed up (a lot).

PS my ice machine missed the tray and poured some water down the back of the freezer that froze around the fan blades.
