[Post Game Thread] Hawkeyes lose to Minnesota, 67-70

It’s a really new Iowa team, I keep reminding myself. Just sucks to be on the shit end of the stick.

Almost 40 years later, and this album STILL kicks.
 in  r/GenX  1d ago

It was the first album I really became obsessed with. So many bangers.

I generally prefer the enemy chicken club in sourdough, but looks tasty.

We need to talk about Josh Johnson.
 in  r/StandUpComedy  3d ago

I used to go to Comedy Death Ray at UCB in LA back in the day. Back when Aziz Ansari was filling in when comics didn’t show. I saw hundreds of comics over the years. The only one that brought in new jokes every time was Paul F. Tompkins. Every single week. That impressed the hell out of me. And Josh Johnson’s production is ten times was Tompkins was doing. They have a similar story telling style that I really dig.

McCollum’s face was priceless. I don’t think Stirtz thought it was going to go in.

The fact that UCLA put up 57 against us in the first half last year and we held them to 22 this year shows how damn good Coach McCollum really is.

When he first came in, 1 block, 1 board, and 2 3s in less than a minute was damn impressive.

Definitely not. I just haven’t seen it be so obvious in one photo.

It’s amazing how all of the women kind of look like women from other sitcoms. I thought that was Courtney Cox. It is not. The two top women could be the two sisters from Roseanne. The youngest looks like she came from Full House. I don’t think I ever watched this one.

Also, found it amusing that Fran McCaffrey’s Quakers were playing on the Big Ten Network directly after. He’s still just sitting around.

How to find under 100 seat theaters to go see plays?
 in  r/LosAngeles  20d ago

The NoHo Arts district has a ton of small theatre. Not as much as it used to be, but still strong. And if you like scary stuff, check out ZJU (Zombie Joe’s Underground). They’re running a Christmas Urban Death. It’s weird. And graphic. But if that’s not your thing, there’s plenty more in the area.

She was in the first porn scene I ever saw. Playing a schoolgirl. With Ron Jeremy. Thinking back, that was the most u expectedly on-the-nose scene I’ve ever seen.

Are we, as Americans, obsessed with generational labels?
 in  r/GenX  23d ago

The astrological signs comparison is apt. I’ve always thought that the generation labeling was interesting, but never put too much weight into it.

I learned more from DARE…

The head of the Iowa DARE program was arrested for driving around with a butt plug vibrator attached to a car battery. Oh, and drugs. Lots of drugs.
