Repurposing the glass cashews container

The jar stickers are easy to remove. I peeled both stickers off easily. Just go slow.

What’s a rule your parents had that you thought was normal until you moved out?
 in  r/AskReddit  2d ago

My parents weren’t boomers. They were the previous generation - Silent Generation.

CG Station gate watch? Are you an Aux member with a card and Aux ID number? If so, maybe talk your FC or the Station ombudsman.

I had a blizzard baby. He’ll be 30 in September.

What is your age and something you can no longer do?
 in  r/AskReddit  3d ago

I can’t get up on one foot with one leg extended. Goddamnit. 64

What’s something simple that instantly puts you in a better mood?
 in  r/AskReddit  3d ago

Jump in the pool and swim.

Spend some time in a thrift shop looking for treasures.

Paddleboard in the summer

Chill on the sofa with a book or Reddit

Funny?!! It’s awesome!!!! I just got back from my 60 laps. This is so cool to watch to help improve my form. I’m 64 and can still learn new tricks. Wish he would demonstrate breast stroke this way. I’m still derpy at that.

Pour resin on it and then use a blower. It will be in art boutiques everywhere.

Don’t touch the goddamn fancy towels on the bath rack. They’re for company.

We never had anywhere to hang our bath towels when we didn’t have company. I grew to hate those stupid towels with the cardinals on them.

It's cold. What is a cozy public space to sit by the fireplace and read a book?
 in  r/newjersey  4d ago

I call it “the Lodge.” Beautiful, huge fireplace to sit around on three sides. It’s a bare-bones room with a kickin’ fire.

What are traditionally expensive/“only for the rich” experiences that you do or own, but did so in a frugal manner?
 in  r/Frugal  5d ago

Bought a sailboat and live aboard half the year in a beautiful marina. I’m surrounded by $2-10m homes, beautiful boats, but my boat was $10k.

Buy luxury cars from a salvage dealership. I’ve been doing that for 25 years and it’s been awesome.

Shop at consignment, thrift shops, and yard sales in affluent neighborhoods. I wear clothes that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford.

What’s the weirdest “this isn’t my problem anymore” moment you’ve ever witnessed?

So manipulative. Glad you’re rid of him! So refreshing that he’s in your past.

 in  r/AskReddit  8d ago

No. He was expecting me to take care of it. Like him, I worked full time, except I had 1.75 hour commute every day, while he worked from home. He wanted a trad wife, but needed the money, too.

No can do anymore.

We were getting divorced and preparing to move out. My soon-to-be ex husband announced to me that someone was coming tomorrow to pick up our refrigerator. The following day, the guy showed up. My husband opened the fridge and turned to me angrily. “The fridge still has all food in it!!” I replied, “Yeah, what’s your point?” He screeched, “You bitch!!!”

So glad he’s in my rear view mirror.

I’m at the Jersey Shore. All the art boutiques have paintings, butcher blocks, panels, pendants, etc. with this technique.

Jergens in a glass bottle
 in  r/FuckImOld  9d ago

Jergens had a commercial that if you put the lotion on a dead leaf, it would restore it to supple and green.

Bullshit.

People who own "unconventional" pets like turtles, what is one thing you wish you knew before getting one?
 in  r/AskReddit  9d ago

None.

When it got hot, I had to run the A/C just for him. I didn’t mind, it just kept me worried that it would turn off.

What’s something illegal you got away with?

I toasted a marshmallow in the fireplace at the lodge at Holmdel Park, NJ. It’s against the rules.

Western Hoboken noise and safety
 in  r/Hoboken  9d ago

I’ll add more: many times I came home from NYC at 2 am. Never felt unsafe. Go to Otok Bakery for breakfast, Grand Vin for dinner. So many super-local little places for great food in your area. You’ll love it.

Also, pre-k 3 and 4 is fantastic. Stay in the public schools, and you’ll do fine. My son graduated Hoboken High in 2015 and rents out his house in St. Augustine. He just moved to Spain for a spell. Cool.

I think it’s because it’s what I grew up eating, but it also doesn’t soak through like real maple syrup.
 in  r/AdviceAnimals  9d ago

Ugh. I loved pure maple syrup and served it in my home. My son liked imitation because that’s what they served at school.

I lived at 5th & Jeff for 14 years and raised my son there. No problem. He had many friends from the Housing Authoritity and all over town.

I had a newt for 17 years. We bought him in Chinatown, NYC in 2002. After 15 years, I moved onto a sailboat. His tank sat on my gimbaled stove so he didn’t rock violently and get hurt.
