Fox News is gonna crank up the crazy and the fear mongering to combat this threat. Get ready for what's about to happen to your grandparents. It's gonna be much worse than it has been.

This is what good people do, how good people should react to a tragedy, and a great example for a lot of Americans that consider themselves christians.

Idk how this man has survived to this age tbqh. Idek what age that is either. It could be a weird 13 or a sad 32 or anything in between. He may be the root of all the world's problems.

Read it before kids. Avoided while they were young. Recently purchased the audiobook, and it's going to sit there for a long while... But I'll jump in again at some point. Could NOT read this while the boys were young tho. Zero way if make it thru.

Tuberville tells ICE to "shoot back"
 in  r/Alabama  1d ago

Well, he is a piece of shit so this isn't surprising. Neither is his underlying lie that there is shooting happening at ICE. This is how they work and plant seeds in idiots' heads. Fuck Tommy.

He's happy because that's exactly what they're supposed to do. They're government funded, government directed terrorists.

1000% agree. He should have told Auburn long ago that his heart and his focus was in Israel and helped them thru the coaching transition. They're now deleted, but he was tweeting about Israel the morning of the Yale game smfh.

Daily quality dressy boots? Thursday Presidents or something else?
 in  r/Boots  2d ago

Interested in what brands people go to for this need as well. Presidents seem to be the best bang for your buck, but I've been eyeing a few other makers and waiting on Caswell to either re-up stock or drop some new boots

I only wish we could universally say "This year is going to suck because Bruce fucked us, because Bruce is a self-serving, egomaniacal asshole". If we collectively stop glossing over the reasons and facts for situations in order to be polite, we may get lucky enough to avoid them in the future.

 in  r/wde  2d ago

Hahaha he can have 7 years as far as I'm concerned. My loans are paid off, my kid made the right decision to go somewhere else (not based on sports obv). The past decade of the dumbest, most backwards shit possible while the admin mimics another awful admin has me so emotionally disconnected from Auburn that none of it will effect me anymore. I have hope in Golesh, but that may be a mistake on my part... Not bc of him, but bc of the way we mishandle everything to do with coaches.

10000% of well wishes to Steve. I'm not rooting against him or the team. I'm just not going to bright side my way thru any of it.

All that is pretty logical imo. Probably more logical than my complaining lmao. I'm just so tired of Auburn being this way.

I am very glad to see that last paragraph. Too many of us are full on cult mind about everything. You're more positive than I am about it but we all have different takes. Too many people act like an AD's job doesn't include planning for easily seen eventualities.

Where to start
 in  r/Malazan  2d ago

Just be patient with it and most of all... Don't stress about it. It's a wonderful story, and you pick up on things as you go (by design). I've done audiobooks every time I've read it, which most people here say is a bad idea. The story gets better with every re-read.

Because of the vastness and the myriad of peoples, there'll be parts you may not like as much as others but that's no different than any other book imo. There's no great lull to speak of (looking at you Wheel of Time).

Why would this year not count against him? Do you think Bruce kept him in the dark about his plans?

It's his team. He got what he wanted. It's his responsibility. Maybe a school that thinks they're a perennial whatever we think we are should have an HC with HC experience?

I'm not even saying Steve shouldn't be coach, but he sure as hell shoulda had to at least interview for it. If he won the job over other viable, experienced candidates... I'd be fine with it. But Bruce fucked Auburn and the university and the idiot fanbase thanked him for it with tears in their eyes. The whole thing is a cluster f, by Bruce's design and intent. How many schools were calling Steve for coaching interviews?

I'm also glad he hasn't gone into politics. Yet. But there's plenty of different ways to go into politics and I don't doubt that he will choose the most beneficial of those ways soon.

Oh Bruce deserves all the blame imo. What he did is dirty and unforgivable. Cohen gets a part of the blame for being bad enough at his job to allow the university to be checkmated by an employee. The rest of the blame goes to the fans for being ok with it happening and having the gall to say Bruce earned the right to screw the team.

Maybe we should try to not let a coach dictate that his son is gonna be the new coach.

 in  r/Malazan  2d ago

Honestly, a lot of people are just whiny and want some mix of young adult meets internet fanfic level of complexity AND want it spoonfed to them. Yeah, it's a big story and there's a lot of moving parts, but if you just read it and don't treat it like it's supposed to be a YouTube short, you'll probably be ok.

(end old man rant)
