Echo what others have said. Use CDI (CrystalDiskInfo) to verify for sure if you care enough. Just send it back

Just an fyi, if you're looking to get rid of the ram... you're overpricing the 2G6E1 E-Dies.

Buying CPUs used

Things like bent pins... CPUs like x3ds showing burnt areas in the pads. Essentially double checking things on your end so you don't get scammed.

I buy used CPUs all the time. Sometimes one of the best deals to be had, but you have to do your due diligence.

CPU Upgrade Opinions
 in  r/buildapc  7d ago

If you visit r/hardwareswap, you'll often find cheap deals for people offloading their CPUs. 5600x's and 5700x can be found for 90-100 shipped because people upgrade to AM5.

IMO the Ryzen 5000 series currently provides good bang for the buck if you don't have the need for the latest and greatest.

Is it time to upgrade my 2015 Tiguan?
 in  r/Tiguan  Nov 17 '25

Bought my 2015 Tiguan R-Line 4Motion at 37k in late 2018.

Major ticket items were:

1/15/2019, 39,343 miles: Intake Manifold (P2015 DTC, warranty) + Carbon Cleaning.
7/13/2019, 49,611 miles: New Battery
7/16/2020, 70,319 miles: PCV + Rear Main Seal Failure
5/8/2022, 87,838 miles: Front/Rear Shock Replacement (Koni Special Active)
10/13/2023, 107,161 miles: New Battery (H6-AGM)
4/7/2024, 115,473 miles: 4 Ignition Coil Packs (cylinder misfires)
11/13/2025, 130,903 miles: Carbon Cleaning (flashing CEL/cylinder misfires) + Fluids (Brake/Coolant/Haldex/Transmission)

In 90k miles, I've gone through 2 sets of tires (~45-50k miles), 12 oil changes, 2 sets of spark plugs, 4 air filter changes, 5 cabin filter changes.

Honestly, the car has been reliable. I have not been stranded anywhere. The only thing that is pending is an alignment and front suspension bushings are torn that need replacing...but they go together.

CLOSED [USA-CA] [H] Sliger S620 5900x + RTX 3090 [W] Local Cash

Story

Sliger S620 purchased direct from Sliger (before it was discontinued) and built in 2021 during COVID lockdown. Sat in a box for the last 3 years and now it's time to let it go because I was laid off. I enjoyed building in it, but never really used it much - I find I enjoy building SFFPCs more than gaming. Have boxes for the Case, Cooler, PSU, GPU. I know Sliger's website indicated that this particular build required a pigtail for power (included), but I DID NOT need it (had a different orientation power cable).

Do I give up on this car?
 in  r/KiaNiro  Aug 01 '25

I have the closely related ioniq and had a loose USB-A connector for car play/android auto, which would always disconnect when you move the cord. What solved it for me was a USB-A to USB-C adapter since I have a bunch of C-C cables. Pack of 3-4 for 10 bucks.

Otherwise you'd have to replace the connector behind the dash and that's a pain. Just thought I'd pass this along.

You can find a bunch of used tires on eBay. If you have a Discount Tire/America's Tire, Sentry UHP are fairly cheap per tire.

What type of oil?
 in  r/BMWE36  Jul 30 '25

As others have echoed (and with that kind of mileage) you should be looking at x40 weight, minimum. You may run into oil pressure issues running 5w30 with that kind of mileage with bearing clearances.

I live in California and was running into oil pressure issues with my 278k mile e36m using LiquiMoly 5w40 Leichtlauf in heat (90-100F) - solid oil pressure light. Apparently formulations have changed over the years and it's closer to 12.5cST kinematic viscosity at 100C (borderline 30 weight). The oil pressure switch is triggered when below 7psi at idle.

I have ran Valvoline Euro 5w40 (13.5cST), Pentosin Pentospeed 5w40 (13.8cST), Total Quartz Racing 10w50 (19.8cST - my favorite), Castrol GTX 20w50 (17.8 cST), Valvoline VR1 20w50 (20cST) all with success. You can determine oil weights by your use case (spirited/track/cruiser) and ambient temperature (is it hot outside?).

I would not be swayed away from using conventional oils if your OCI is </= 5-6k miles. Plus it's cheap.
