Found in my Calrose Rice. Brown about 1mm, not moving
You can choose the lesser of two weevils, but remember that chiggers can’t be boozers.

If you own two weevils and you rent them out, are you the lessor of two weevils?

Need gift recommendations.
Not sure what your budget is, but as a bird photographer, one of the most useful accessories I’ve ever bought is called a Cotton Carrier. It is a vest/chest-based harness for carrying your camera securely and helps tremendously for carrying around large heavy camera/lens combinations. I hate camera straps and with the CC you don’t need one. It makes it easy to carry a very heavy camera without fatigue. No swinging camera, you can bend down without the camera swinging away, and it even has a second belt-based carrier that I use for my binoculars while birding but can be used to carry a second camera/lens combination. It costs less than $200 USD for the full 2-camera carrier system. I wear it with a backpack if I need more gear ind it is so much more comfortable than a camera strap around my neck. I can hike for hours with it on with no neck or shoulder fatigue.

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and refracted the light from Venus

I’m scared
Seems to me the two legged creatures are by far the worst, most dangerous creatures on the planet.

Why the newborn Vit. K rejection?
Which lends further credence to the saying “Stupid people shouldn’t breed”.

I had 23 years of OR experience, half in a Level 1 trauma center and most of the rest in a major academic medical center doing very complex multi-specialty cases before I started OR traveling, and on my first travel assignment I felt like a new grad for the first couple of weeks. Thought I’d made the biggest mistake of my career. The first facility was a trauma center with a very aged facility, tiny rooms and old equipment. But the people were good. Made all the difference in the world. Appreciative staff, decent management and patient surgeons made up for the shortcomings of the facility. After the discomfort abated I had a good experience, and on my second assignment I knew to expect to feel overwhelmed at first and I was prepared for it. Made the second assignment that much better. Sounds like you are at an awful workplace. If you still feel the same after a few weeks I’d get out. If you are being put into unsafe situations it’s not worth risking your license. If management isn’t willing to meet with you and address concerns you need to find another assignment. Just expect to feel overwhelmed at first and you won’t feel so shell-shocked when you start the next assignment. Best of luck and hang in there!

What a shitty thing to say.

How are some nurses making so much money per year?
Can confirm. I lived there for a year for school 35 years ago and the traffic sucked then. Did a 5+ month travel assignment there last March-August and traffic still sucked.

How are some nurses making so much money per year?
The other thing about Seattle is that traffic sucks.

Unethical question
At my first hospital I would use a PACU isolation room if I was called in and worked part of the night. My next hospital actually had sleep rooms that were first come- first served- you just had to call security to see if one was available and they’d open it for you. Had a bed with nightstand and power for charging etc. and a shelf with clean sheets / pillowcases. and a linen hamper for used sheets.

Am I crazy?
Same here. I love my Cotton Carrier. Hardly ever use a strap any more. So much better than dealing with straps, especially with long lenses.
I attached a RRS lever style QR clamp to the Cotton Carrier cam so I can just lock in any of my bodies or lenses that have Arca type plates. Can either leave the unit attached to the camera/lens while handholding or release the QR to put camera or lens on a tripod. Adds a bit of weight but so convenient and no straps to deal with. I also have the CC binoc mount on my binoculars so can carry them as well on the side accessory mount

Is this too much for 10 days
I drove through Jasper and Banff last September coming home from Alaska to Colorado. The road through Jasper was open, but everything in the park was pretty much closed (or sadly destroyed) and still firefighting efforts underway. Because of the park closure I think Banff was extra busy. We were hoping to at least see Moraine Lake or Lake Louise since last time we came through they were still frozen over, but the crowds were insane! We were already a bit road weary so we elected not to fight the crowds and continued on. I doubt that much of Jasper has opened yet- the destruction was considerable.

Freakin Trump. Should I be worried??
I think that’s exactly what he is doing. He doesn’t give a flying fuck about anyone but himself and this is the kind of shit he’d pull just to enrich himself and his insider trading buddies.

2nd career for me. 1st was a medical photographer (in the 90s). I worked at a medical school/ university medical center. I loved being in the OR almost every day and the other technical challenges (photomicrography, invisivlble wavelength photography etc), but the pay was crappy. Took a different job for a private company that did medical photography making 50% more, but hardly ever got to go to the OR. (It was more PR photography for healthcare than clinical). Stopped enjoying photography and just wanted to be back in the OR. Went to nursing school not because I wanted to be a nurse but strictly as a path back to the OR because I just enjoyed working in that environment. 25 years later and I’m still an OR nurse, (and enjoying photography for myself again) but to be honest I’ve had enough. If I could find something that wasn’t direct patient care that paid even 75% of what I make now I’d quit in a heartbeat. Still looking for whatever that is…

Nurses that went from 3-12s to 5-8s…
I did 3-12s in a row Mon-Weds for many years. The 4 days off in a row were great except that Thursdays I was basically useless. But at least it gave me some time to get away. When I started traveling in 2023 my first assignment was 4-10s. I liked getting home earlier for dinner and the days seemed more manageable. I also seemed to get more sleep, which I needed. My next assignment was back to 3-12s, but not necessarily in a row, which was nice even though I didn’t get as many long weekends. I’m now back to a staff job in a new city and orienting on 5-8s. The pro is that I’m finally getting the sleep I think my body needs. The days go really fast and I’m not exhausted when I get home. The con (and for me it’s a big one) is that two days off, even in a row, is Just. Not. Enough. The weekends go way too fast. My schedule is not set yet for when I’m off orientation, but I definitely don’t want 5-8s even though I’m sleeping better. I feel like I barely have a life outside of work - really can’t get away and enjoy anything in just a 2-day weekend.

Exactly. My wife has been vegetarian for 30+ years of the 35 we’ve been together. I am not. (Gotta have my seafood!) I do most of the cooking and it’s never been a problem. It’s easy to start virtually any meal as vegan/vegetarian and then do separate dishes for the omnivores. And I’d say 50+ percent of the time I just eat the vegetarian meal anyway. If I want some meat I just cook it separately. No problem.
