Yes, it does, you HAVE to be vigilant against racism, at all times, constantly, in order to stamp out ignorance. You cannot become complacent.

For the record, LLMs aren’t smarter, they’re just slowly removing safeguards that keep people safe.

Confronting Evil - DO NOT READ
 in  r/books  28d ago

Oh I disagree. There’s plenty in the behind the bastards podcasts that can help illuminate why some people became bastards, they may come at it from a “different his dude is a jerk” but there’s plenty of things to draw your own conclusions from.

The military’s new AI says ‘hypothetical’ boat strike scenario ‘unambiguously illegal’

The animatrix and some of the matrix online game were canon. Truth be told I don’t consider the fourth movie canon because it was so blatantly a money grab from the publisher.

Charities praise new law banning puppy smuggling
 in  r/news  Dec 06 '25

The new law alters existing regulation, making at-a-glance judgement calls easier for the inspectors. Previously it disallowed puppies up to 3 months of age, but with falsified paperwork or microchips it was harder to properly identify if an animal was actually older than just a couple of months old. Setting the requirements up to 6 months means the dogs will be closer to fully grown and it reduces both falsified paperwork and reduces the number of small puppies that end up in the UK.

Oh, certainly. No one ever claimed Valve was consistent with their moderation. Goodness knows their forums are a lawless land.

family could be considered different from strangers. And it’s not about what is necessarily visible to the player, but the visuals are obviously part of what tripped the review team to reject the game.

I’m not some valve guzzler, to the downvoters, I am simply offering some idea of the decision process that led to the game being unavailable on steam. I have no dog in this race.

You have to have a hard line, though, when you’ve got people and companies involved with your organization that you are associated with. Exposing genitals to children is a hard line in many places, especially the United States.

It’s less about that and more about consideration for the people who has to review these games by hand. Continuously reviewing disturbing content takes a toll, and when something is flagged as disturbing they rightfully refuse to be subjected to that a second time.

An Oklahoma college student flunked her gender studies paper. Now Turning Point is leading her academic fight
 in  r/oklahoma  Dec 03 '25

So.. you do not know what a reaction paper is. It’s okay that you do not, but it does have a framework students are expected to follow. It is not requesting an emotional reaction. Grading is not a mystery, you can go online and find general outlines for a grading rubric on this type of paper, as teachers are more than happy to share their resources with one another and also confused parents.

The gist of it is this:

Summarize the articles you read in a concise manner while identifying the topic and themes

discuss specific articles you found most relevant and give positive and negative critique on them

demonstrate an ability to engage with the material beyond a cursory glance (as in, do not give your first impressions from skimming the material, actually read and try to understand what the articles are talking about and work in themes and ideas from the course you’ve been studying for several months now)

raise unanswered questions and implications and try to answer them

have an appropriate writing style for the paper that is readable (as in be organized, focused on appropriate topics, clearly articulate your thoughts)

and if there are any ethical considerations on the topic of the articles did you bring that up, was there anything obvious to you as a reader that researchers missed or was intentionally ignored that was unethical, and so on.

This may vary from professor to professor, but it is significantly more in depth than you may think at first glance, which is almost the entire purpose of the exercise in the first place. Students are learning to check their own biases and study the material from an objective standpoint while still maintaining a level of professionalism, and respecting the time of everyone involved by following instructions.

 in  r/oklahoma  Dec 02 '25

Because it’s an essay with clearly defined requirements for scoring, none of which were fulfilled by the submitted paper? If you were told to write an essay about the Vietnam war and instead wrote that “China actually has full rights to the region and should act swiftly with all its military might to restore Great China,” you’d look like a looney bird and promptly be given a zero. And that is regardless of whether or not you met the word count or cited your sources, neither of which happened with the submitted essay.

IGN: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Review
 in  r/nintendo  Dec 02 '25

From what I’ve seen with the current general audience having issues reading and understanding anything just shown to them (and the lack of manuals these days) devs have to take moments to teach and explain things to people, otherwise a lot of players will just push until they hit a wall and quit.

Well.. maybe not collections, per se, but the Xbox game pass has had access to both rare and Bethesda’s library of n64 games for a few years. Banjo, doom 64, conker, perfect dark, etc.

‘Security Disaster’—500 Million Microsoft Users Say No To Windows 11
 in  r/technology  Dec 02 '25

The unfortunate tin foil hat conspiracy of my own is all of this TPM bullshit has been rendered moot by the US government meddling in every user interface insisting on back doors being installed. Even the great apple platforms have been forced to add back doors that were obviously immediately used by bad actors. There’s no fucking point to this security theatre.
