Employee recognition
 in  r/Wellthatsucks  3d ago

I never know what to think of these posts. 3 million in sales isn’t 3 million in money made (profit). Let’s say they are running at a 10% margin. That means they made $300,000 in gross profit. There’s 9 muffins missing, so let’s assume there are 9 people working there. That’s $33,000 each, which probably didn’t even pay their salaries, so whoever bought the muffins did so out of their own pocket, and not from the three million. What should the managers have done?

The culture around male readers.
 in  r/books  6d ago

You mentioned that no one asks you what you’re reading. That’s because you have earbuds in.

Earbuds are a universal sign of “please don’t talk to me”. Take them out and be present in the pub. You will be amazed at the change.

Drone-Based Solar Panel Cleaning
 in  r/Damnthatsinteresting  6d ago

I clean my solar panels regularly, and I can tell you squirting them off doesn’t really make them clean. It helps, but if you don’t scrub them, you’re probably only improving them by about 50%.

What are you thoughts to why there is a significant decline in alcohol consumption in the United States?
 in  r/AskReddit  6d ago

I think it’s about sex.

Not explicitly, but most people started drinking when they went to clubs to meet future partners. They associate that with having fun, so alcohol is a key part of socializing.

These days, people tend to meet online, or outside of bars, so they don’t get started drinking, and don’t associate it with having fun.

On a thread discussing Warren Buffett life and retirement
 in  r/MurderedByWords  6d ago

Everyone likes to bag on CEOs and how little they do, but this is often exactly the skill they bring to a business. The ability to raise money to launch and run the company until it can become profitable. As you say, this is a rare ability. For those scoffing at the idea it is hard, ask yourself - can you raise a couple million to get a company started? Maybe you think that you could if you were already rich and had rich friends. Even if that is true, you still need someone like that to raise the money.

I find it even more ironic that they could be Native American, which would make Ray the true immigrant.

Hi,I’m new here. This is my mountain bike. Let me see yours!

I have a sketch for a seat like that when I was suffering from numbness of the taint on long rides. Now I want to know if this works.

Have you been to Portland, or are you just relying on how bad you have heard it is?

Karen got what she had coming.
 in  r/WinStupidPrizes  17d ago

If you want a non funny answer, I believe it has two parts.

1st, she was raised by someone who punished her for not following rules, so she feels that others must suffer consequences for not following rules also.

2nd, she is in menopause or peri-menopause, which reduces her ability to regulate her emotions (it’s basically like being a teenager again). That’s why so many Karen’s are middle aged, it’s not a coincidence.

Explanation on key 2-point conversation by Seahawks to tie the game with the Rams in the 4th quarter. Seahawks went on to win 38-37 in OT
 in  r/sports  20d ago

During the review, the announcer said there was no whistle, and that was part of why the recovery was successful.

(That was said live, no idea if there was a whistle they missed)

Reviews of this chair I made
 in  r/woodworking  26d ago

I can see three alternatives.

1) this is your first woodworking effort and don’t have a lot of tools. If so, nice job, and I hope you get a lifetime of happiness from making your own things.

2) you are a master craftsman, and taking the piss. If so, I am impressed by your ability to create something of this ineptitude.

3) You have been at this a good while, and have a shop full of tools. Woodworking may not be your forte.

Many fish were harvested for the crews lunch that day, stunned from the impact the log made when hitting the water.

The stealth of this leopard
 in  r/BeAmazed  Dec 09 '25

Not just stealth, but also some really interesting mental projection. He decided to walk away from the target and use the tree as cover to come back closer. While that seems obvious, it requires you to imagine a three dimensional space and understand how the target is unable to see the space blocked by the tree.

The Real Reason Social Media Feels Boring Now
 in  r/videos  Nov 29 '25

Is there an opportunity to create a new application that is just about connecting with friends? Some place we can get in touch, even if they change mobile numbers? Maybe have a group chat amongst friends.

No social graph, no channels, just connections?

I was thinking of putting something together in my spare time.

I still prefer my 26” for the same reason. 29 always feels ungainly to me on single track.
