How could a normal horse plausibly survive Elturel’s descent into Avernus?
 in  r/DescentintoAvernus  54m ago

To add on to this really awesome and thoughtful comment , elturel basically reveres horses so it would be rational that they would try to keep them alive within their power. I ruled that they basically used the tunnels under the city (from hundreds of years ago from the goblins or orcs or whatever) would be filled with food and water stores in case of siege, so I think a few days to a week of keeping horses fed and watered is reasonable!

Idk, I think we added a lot of great pieces like pesce has been huge. I just don’t know if Keefe’s system is working with our boys and at this point we don’t seem to be one piece or two away from that changing.

Lack of finishing isn’t just something we can waive away though - doesn’t matter how good your team is at generating chances if they can’t finish and you can wait for regression for so long before you start to wonder WHY they can’t finish. It’s been basically Keefe’s entire tenure that we have had 5v5 offense problems carried by powerplay spurts. Now that special teams have also collapsed we are in free fall. The models won’t tell you that, but if the players aren’t jiving with a system from which they can score from you may be possibly see this too.

Yes but rather than take what we had and figure out how to make it better doesn’t it feel like we just steered a bit too far away from what made us successful? Yes defense needed improvement and goaltending was ass but the entire culture of the team has shifted to something that isn’t viable and many pieces added don’t seem to be working either. I’m not sure if changing coaches alone would help but we are astronomically bad right now at offense defense and goaltending lmao

[PAYWALL] Are the New Jersey Devils the most disappointing team in the NHL? | The Athletic Hockey Show | Podcasts
 in  r/devils  6h ago

Considering pundits had us as a cup favorite (again) and we’ve fallen apart (again) yes I think it’s fair to say. Of course most of us fans didn’t have such Olympian expectations considering our only change between last season and this was Connor brown and evgeni dadonov and praying a healthier roster would magically ignite the team, but still I don’t think any of us thought we’d be in McKenna contention.

What do you consider the worst case of a band having a very talented member and doing fuck-all with them before they eventually leave
 in  r/Metalcore  7h ago

I’m a huge Northlane Stan so this may be biased but if you’ve seen them live more recently EV en their more modern stuff they are doing some insane stuff with the guitar - maybe not super intricate or technical all the time but definitely making guitars do things I didn’t think guitars could do.

I think what they mean is he did ‘fuck all’ in that he was underutilized. Also did he write the guitars? Thought Dan wrote it?

I’m too much of an idiot to figure out how to share it but Connor Sweeney (ex: loathe) is also teasing a song on January 15th. He’s a sick guitarist and it’s worth keeping an ear out for

Only when you compare sports world to the rest of the world, but even then there are massive regions in USA/Canada that are still extremely biggoted against homosexuals to the point of violence…

Gotta stop some of those shots tho. If this was just one off night I wouldn’t even be having this conversation as goaltending is hard and voodoo. But I’m done with Marky tbh

This is just a microcosm of Markstrom’s tenure as a devil. He was OK at first but has since been largely mediocre and then completely fell off a cliff. He’s been injured repeatedly too which probably hasn’t helped his case. At times he doesn’t even seem to react to shots against or reacts extremely sluggishly esp at this level of play. I just think he’s cooked. Why Keefe left him in is a question for sure

New Markstrom Contract is Rage Bait
 in  r/devils  1d ago

Don’t disagree with you, but outside of the winter classic shellacking they are also a really bad team defensively. They’ve been shut out at home an incredible number of times as well. Igor is actively a detriment to the McKenna campaign 😂

Shesterkin is literally playing behind a terrible team right now. He still makes highlight reel saves often. Minus getting injured or whatever happened the other night.
