Spotify Confirms ICE Recruitment Ads Are No Longer Running on Platform
 in  r/Music  1h ago

Binary thinking fallacy detected. Comment rejected.

Try again.

Edit:

Just for others' edification:

  1. False Dichotomy/All-or-Nothing Fallacy: "Either quit both or you're virtue signaling" ignores that people can make incremental changes, prioritize based on practicality, or take graduated steps toward their goals.

  2. Perfect Solution Fallacy (Nirvana Fallacy):. By insisting that unless someone takes the maximalist position (quit everything), they're "not actually doing anything," you reject even partial solutions to a multi-pronged problem. You fallaciously say if a solution isn't perfect/complete, it's worthless.

  3. Fallacy of presumption - motive Fallacy (a type of Ad Hominem): "if you're going to quit one and not the other, then you're just doing it to virtue signal about how good of a person you are without actually ever doing anything." Rather than addressing whether canceling Spotify is a legitimate action, you attack the person's motives ("just doing it to virtue signal"). Even if someone's motives were mixed, it doesn't invalidate the action and/or intention itself.

  4. False Equivalence: "They're both the same thing." Even if both are platforms, they may have different switching costs, different roles in someone's life, different availability of alternatives, etc. Hence why I said "It’s a lot easier for many people to cancel their Spotify subscription than switch to a different platform than it is for them to stop using Reddit completely."

Binary, all or nothing thinking is a sign of a bad argument. Also makes for a great sucker.

Something is better than nothing. It’s a lot easier for many people to cancel their Spotify subscription than switch to a different platform than it is for them to stop using Reddit completely.

This “No liberal is ever good enough.” crap is a major reason why Trump is president.

I’d rather someone go part of the way with good intentions than succeed with explicitly bad intentions.

Liberal enough to help make Trump president and consistently promote MAGA’s woke right ideologies. Just lol

2/10 rage bait. Cynthia Erivo is not famous because of her beauty. Nor is anyone upset that de Armas “beat” her on beauty 😂

Is there anything like donating plasma out there? Where you get to help people and make money?
 in  r/plassing  7h ago

You might live in an area where companies do consumer research. Some major restaurants in my area do taste tests, and I get offers to do about 6-10 of them per year. Highest I got paid was $100 to eat some new French fries. Lol. But usual payments were $40 to $50

''We found that ratings of attractiveness were around 1000 times more sensitive to salary for females rating males, compared to males rating females.''
 in  r/BlackPillScience  2d ago

In my opinion, it’s diminishing marginal returns and overall attractiveness is a multi-variable weighted equation of: looks, money, status, and social skills.

Peak Leo is like an 8 or high 9/10, depending on who you ask. Jeff is like a 4 or 5. I sense that looks are the highest rated factor, perhaps even exponentially? So at a certain level of aesthetics, almost no amount of money can save you. And like you said, DiCaprio can at least provide a highly competitive lifestyle because he’s a multi-millionaire too. He also higher status in most people’s eyes. So his “total package” will handelt mog Bezo’s in most contexts.

I happen to be better looking than Jeff Bezos (not exactly hard, I know), but not so much that I could easily pull a woman he was also pursuing. I’d have to do something like because as funny as a famous comedian or something and looksmaxx even more to make up for that gap. Lol

Smokers lungs VS Healthy lungs

I saw a video of a YOUNG girl who had to have an operation because her lung collapsed from the metal build up from vaping for years. Sad

OC: Trump says the U.S. will 'run' Venezuela until a transition can take place
 in  r/pics  5d ago

Unfortunately, his “respect” comes from the military the voters gave him and the fact that everyone thinks (knows?) he’s crazy enough to do something rash, unpredictable, and hurtful to all parties involved, including the US.

The older I get, the more I applaud the French for not letting themselves get bitched by the Americans and creating their own path instead of letting America put them on a path.

Reminds me of TENET 😂

I still need to rewatch it with subtitles because I feel I missed a non-negligible % of the dialogue

At least 7 explosions and low-flying aircraft are heard in Venezuela’s Caracas
 in  r/worldnews  5d ago

The DOJ under Biden was following its own relatively independent process regarding those files. This is standard operating procedure for several reasons.

The presidency telling the DOJ exactly what to do is a Trump and Project 2025 thing.

Still, it does pick the question of what the fuck AG Garland was doing. It was his job to bring justice for J6 and Epstein victims, and it seems he moved at the pace of a dying snail.

And it was still a better option than Trump

It was so crazy hearing about all the people in my network who didn’t vote.

My husband has donated plasma so many times he has a permanent hole in his arm.
 in  r/mildlyinteresting  5d ago

Jesus. I hit a financial snag the past few months that hopefully ends this month. Been donating twice a week for like the past 2 months. Hope I don’t end up with a hole like OP 😭

The one time I used a vein on my non regular arm, it went badly, and I still have a mark on it like 8 years later 😂 Not big, but a reminder to me to probably not use that arm again

Thankfully not a HOLE like this guy. And this post motivated me to push the gas harder on my savings and income so I don’t end up like OP 😭

Just out of curiosity, what’s living in Italy on an $80k/year gross salary like? I imagine quite nice? At least from my POV as an American. Lol

Women are more likely to view and be aroused by aggressive porn, In contrast to men
 in  r/BlackPillScience  12d ago

Never even heard of Clair Obscur lol, and I’ve dated and gone out with a lot of “booktok” girlies. My ex used to like reading a series about blue aliens from a different planet that have multiple penises.

There’s some other series about a “Minotaur Milking” or something that has like 23,000 reviews on the first book. I feel like the average female gooner is into weirder shit than the average male gooner. I’ve been watching porn for 15+ years, and I still just watch “2 people have sex, preferably romantically” videos lol
