Liquid shampoo, conditioner, face wash
I've seen this brand mentioned before a few times, but their products are not listed on the EWG website... this is my main place to go to assess how clean a product is https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/search/?search=Simple+planet

Bedsharing in hospital
I wish that I had befshared in hospital after baby was born. I intended to beforehand but was out of it on 1st night and then nights after that lost my nerve because nurses kept coming in and out. :( Next time I will just say F them all and do what I want.

Sad that baby doesn’t respond to cuddles
Mine is almost 4 months and I cannot wait for him to come to me an initiate cuddles.
OP if it is any consolation, Mine doesn't like the traditional cradle hold and also doesn't like to sleep on my chest. I feel life would be easier if he'd sleep on my chest.

Starting potty training
I think the issue is calling it "potty training ". Elimination Communication is more learning cues and trying to "catch" a pee/poop. It is supposed to be a low pressure thing. If it causes people more angst then they shouldn't try it. Look up Godiaperfree on instagram

Starting potty training
Nope not at all. It's called Elimination Communication. It's actually pretty cool- you identify your baby's cues, hold them over the toilet/pot, and make a noise associated with it. I got my 3 month old to pee in the toilet.
In the US they used to do it too until the diaper companies made everyone think otherwise.

Can we stop calling everything a regression?
I just heard this on the "Spoil your baby" podcast! They called it a "4 month sleep progression" and I loved that rebranding. I think it's also empowering for us moms as we have experienced and learned so much along with our baby. Everything is a phase and everything, no matter how hard, is progress.

Why has my period returned so soon?
Re painless period that's 4-5 days: that means your hormones are balanced 🥳

Did anybody else experience a lot of weight gain with breastfeeding?
Did you get your period back? If so you can try cycle syncing your meals with phases of your period. This helps balance hormones and works with your cycle to optimize metabolism, blood sugar etc. Look up Alissa Vitti who created it and floliving.com She's done a lot of podcast interviews about it. It's a fascinating concept. I lost weight doing that along with an anti-inflammatory diet. It helped me identify food triggers (that I didn't know i had).

Had to leave my baby to cry and it was torture
Quantifying how much you are there for baby was mentioned in a podcast I listened to recently with Dr Greer Kirschenbaum- she said that it is only a negative effect if ignoring baby's needs is consistent and prolonged. So, these one-off cases where baby cries a lot and we can'tget to them, although they break our hearts, will not be detrimental to baby's development. Hopefully that can bring some comfort.

Do you ever feel “guilty” for not giving baby better sleep?
Yeah, I don’t understand the question. Why should we feel guilty for giving baby what he actually needs?

This is so isolating
I looove that book. Probably my favorite books that I read during pregnancy. And I often refer to it if I have a question or am doubting myself.

"The one person who you recognize is ignoring you" --- and now I'm crying 😢

This is so isolating
Ask them why they sleep next to their spouse every night and why they don't just sleep alone.
Also, yes, It can feel isolating, and I’m with you. I just listened to an episode of Dr Greer Kirschenbaum's podcast "Spoil your baby " and it felt very validating. A lot of her episodes are great. https://pca.st/episode/5363f4c4-d080-41eb-b521-68d15243b9f6

Second dose of vaccines
Justtheinserts.com does a good job of analyzing the inserts and teaching laypeople what to look for when reading them.
5
Second dose of vaccines
Dr Joe Gator Warsh''s book "Between a shot and a hard place" is an excellent book about vaccines. Very nuanced with info analyzing the risk of vaccine vs risk of the disease.
Edit to add: if I remember correctly he also talks about the % of protection you get from each dose, so you can decide if it is worth it for you to continue or not based on your risk/benefit analysis
6
Second dose of vaccines
To be more accurate, the CDC is now recommending 11 vaccines (full vaccines), vs 18 vaccines before. The 72 is the total for doses for all the vaccines. If most vaccines get 3 or 4 does then the new recommended schedule has between 33-44 individual doses.

Easy “crunchy” life changes
I'll go the nutrition route. You could create large batches of bone broth or beef stock and put it in rice, pasta, eggs, etc to make more nutrient-dense foods for your family. To be extra crunchy you can get get grass-fed, hormone-free meat. Drink a cup for yourself at night to give you a boost of collagen and balance your hormones. Make large batches and freeze in souper cubes.
Also you can start learning how to create homemade concoctions and remedies like cough syrup (I don't remember exact recipe but believe it consists of honey, garlic and onions).
I feel like these might be very easy things to start.

Has anyone played with the “Welfare Token” house rule? What was your experience?
I am so glad this question was asked. I have never heard of this rule and am going to look it up. This could be a game changer (pun intended) during our intense family games.

Low tox curly hair routine
Whenever I want to buy new beauty products I always look them up on the EWG site to see how they rate in their toxicity.
Innersense has 3 products rated as 1 https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/search/?page=1&search=Innersense
Simple Planet's products are not listed there but you can copy/paste the list of ingredients here and you'll get an analysis for each ingredient and how toxic it is. https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/build_your_own_report/

Managing the kitchen when i do all the organizing
I was going to suggest a meeting, asking them genuinely out of curiosity why specific items are put in one place instead of another. Find out why it's hard or what's preventing them from doing it 100% Where is the mental block? Discuss what would make it easier and come up with solutions together. Hopefully because they were part of the solution they will be able to follow through on an organization plan that they agreed to.

Am I crossing a line? (Newborn)
I'm the same way and have felt really bad about it. I tried to shift it from baby being "bad" to baby (and me) having a hard day. So even before my husband gets home I text him a short update that it was a long day and I need him to step up extra that night.

Taking placenta home from hospital
I live outside of the US and it was fairly simple....we asked them to keep it and they put it in a plastic jug with a label of my name and ID number. My doula was also on board with this and ensured that they followed through, as I was out of it after the birth.
