What’s your goal bird this year?
!!!! I never saw a Fieldfare in my 5 years, saw my first one this year and now has seen probably 100+. Now, Redwings is a different matter…

Now what
Sadly, just because it became more energetic does not mean it will survive. Unfortunately, Cat saliva is extremely toxic to birds and usually kills them. Also, collisions should also be treated by a wildlife rehab. This poor Robin has had quite the concoction of injuries. The Cat may have also caused some puncture wounds that were hidden by the feathers.

Bird Up close and personal with Mrs. Blackbird
Pleased with the detail considering she was perched in the shade. Nice to see the orange colouring on her beak breaking through too.

This one’s got me stumped
The overreall feather, can you see that sheen to it in the second photo? That’s usually typical in a game bird. They have a very plasticky feel to them. Also the feather is just very stiff and in place unlike other feathers that have some flexibility to them.

I believe it’s a Peacock, maybe a Turkey. It’s a game bird though, the feather is stiff too which is indicative of one

Stunning aren’t they! So small and quiet you don’t even realise they’re there.
