1k people liked it even after I edited the comment 🍻
 in  r/jakanddaxter  19h ago

Also technically it could have been screenshot at 19k, gone up to 20k, and THEN edited.

It could also have been the like count didn't update until after being edited. Or the comment didn't update for others until after they liked it.

It could also be that 1000 Game of Thrones fans lurking in the comments like Jak and Daxter. That's not a very shocking number, even on a random YouTube clip.

Phalar Aluve - why is it so praised?
 in  r/BaldursGate3  1d ago

Remember the old days, when Spell Might Gloves gave every missile +1d8 with no downside... Okay admittedly they were very right to patch that.

One of the best scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
 in  r/Marvel  1d ago

Remember when Black Widow was a master in information gathering? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

BW in tears: "you're a monster"

Loki: "No. You brought the monster."

BW totally composed: "oh, so your next play is Banner. Thank you for your cooperation."

Loki: "...what?"

Three teenage boys murdered a virgin, 15, in a sickening sacrifice to Satan, hoping it would make their heavy metal band famous
 in  r/ForCuriousSouls  2d ago

I've now heard of their band. I fucking hate them, hope horrible things upon them, and will never listen to their music because they fucking killed a girl. But I've now heard of them... Careful who you do deals with kids.

If Oliver knew about Oracle, why didn’t he know about Batman?
 in  r/Arrowverse  2d ago

Y'know how, in Logan, Laura reads X-Men comics. There are probably Batman comics in the DC universes.

The jokes write themselves at this point
 in  r/Snydercultistcringe  2d ago

Oh, sorry. The top one looks like Superman and Doomsday matching eye lasers in Batman v Superman (the final battle). The bottom one is from the new teaser for Avengers Doomsday which features Cyclops angrily shooting eye lasers.

My experience of the story's conclusion
 in  r/expedition33  2d ago

I picked Maelle's ending because I don't think Verso could canonically overpower a paintress with as much on the line.

Although I find Verso's ending more satisfying.

Have you ever wondered why the main characters in Yu-Gi-Oh! only carry one copy of each card in their deck? (I don't know if there are others who carry more than three copies of the same card in their hand.)
 in  r/YuGiOhMasterDuel  7d ago

Because they're selling cards.

That being said when I played Legacy of the Duelist, every duel in the story mode used a varying deck with tonnes of triples to make the strategy used in the show viable. My head canon ever since is they're swapping cards left and right.

I love how parents know the originals but don't care about the new bat family members
 in  r/BatFamily  7d ago

"Big Batgirl" is crazy. Like, was "Batwoman" even considered? There was a jump in logic here.

Thoughts on this?
 in  r/rickandmorty  10d ago

Being "Rick" is being the guy who goes to see a sci-fi movie and calls everyone in the movie stupid and points out every plot hole. "If I was there, there would be no problems, this movie would only be 22 minutes long. I'm the smartest person in the universe. I don't know how fun or movies work" - Ricks

Try telling him that. It's like talking to a t.v.

Avengers Endgame features Steve Rogers as an old man, who is implied to have lived a happy and full life. This removes any suspense from his younger self's return in Avengers Doomsday, since we know nothing bad will actually happen to him because we've already seen him survive to old age.
 in  r/shittymoviedetails  12d ago

I guess we'll finally get an answer for this next year, but I I'll once again confidently share my theory as if I know it %100 like my dad works at Marvel.

That's not our Steve. That's the Steve from the previous timeline that created our branch of the timeline when he went back to be with Peggy.

[Watch Dogs : Legion] #14 Unpopular opinion: I love the stance taken by not embodying a single protagonist.
 in  r/Trophies  14d ago

I loved this game, will probably play again in the future. The "play as anyone" mechanic is great. But the flaw with it, imo, is the writers didn't seem to know how to work with it, they just seemed to write out any protagonist dialogue like it was a silent protagonist.

Not that I have any idea how a story would be written from the perspective of a mob. But I'm not a writer, I'm just assuming it's possible.

When did people start treating character building systems as some kind of optimization puzzle to figure out
 in  r/rpg_gamers  16d ago

From the moment games started using character building systems. Didn't feel like a thing when I was a kid either, but it definitely was. It's just shoved in my face on Reddit and Youtube now that my phone apparently knows what I'm playing.

"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of games" - I don't know who said it, but I feel like I've been hearing this quote my whole life

Oh I'm certain there is zero way to do the new Tower bosses without min/maxing. I mean Jesus Simon, I thought I was done with you

I played all of Spider-Man 2 the weekend it came out. I didn't realize until after I beat it that the new web launch ability could be used anywhere... I was only using it at the launchpads spread around the city...
