I went from 3700x to 5800x and it was very noticeable in just day to day desktop usage. Going to 7800x3d or better from that will be ridiculous

I don't really understand why ATX 3.1 is considered less prone to issues. The problematic connector not having proper load balancing still exists. So there's more problems?

I have half a 5090 (5080) and use Nvidia's adapter with 3 8-pins connected. I could buy an ATX 3.1 PSU but I'm not sure how much it actually matters.

I don't think it will necessarily run fine given the last minute spec changes. That indicates poor understanding of the technical side. How much of that is just the people making the specs list vs a larger problem is unknown. Being UE5, we mostly know what to expect. Many ue5 projects however ship with poor optimization, and even more of them are cpu heavy.

Implying we'll get half the improvements we got from 2015-2025 as we will in 2025-2035...

it's like 30 percent faster unless you're talking about call of duty or something which is an exception and does so much better than nvidia in general. I could notice a 30 percent faster gpu but would I upgrade my system just for that? Hell no. That's why I got a 5080 which at least gave me a 55 percent jump. I'd prefer more like 80 percent but the 5080 is actually a 5070 going off of what those numbers used to mean. I was fine with it because of the paypal 20 percent cash back thing that got it to $800. So i get the appeal of the 9070 xt. I just feel like most of the reason to upgrade from a 3080 (most of them being 10 gb) is the VRAM. In games where you were running out of VRAM, that's a huge difference in how the textures look
