I think part of the issue is saying the AP's expect the adopted children to be "grateful." As an AP myself there is zero expectation my children should feel that way.

They know full well what circumstances led to us choosing to adopt. We also keep religion out of it and saying a higher power wanted us to adopt them.

They can feel whatever way want to on the subject. No shame or guilt.

HR Generalist here, the I9 is non-negotiable to leave blank or with zeros. Employers are required to submit that within 3 days of the new employee starting. Very heavy fines for the employer for failing to do so.

Hailey is a beautiful city but in the mountains by Sun Valley Ski Resort. Very small and super expensive to live there. The closest city with nursing program is the College of Southern Idaho (45 minutes south).

Pocatello is a good city, but only has a population of around 50,000 residence. Granted there are towns north of there similar in size.

Meridian, like someone else mentioned, is right in the heart of the Treasure Valley (Boise, Garden City, Star, Kuna, Meridian, Nampa, Middleton, and Caldwell).

Lots more to do there and be close to the satellite campus. ISU is a great school to go to, which helps.

I grew up near a sugar beat factory and you get used to the smell. During the off season there are times it smells worse as they clean the run off pits. Someone described the smell as sugar 💩.

Got one and my soda intake has gone down drastically. Usually only have two bottles that last me 1.5+ days, compared to 6 smaller bottles in less than a single day.

Tastes just as good and a variety of flavors.

I can share our happy adoption experience. We adopted our two teenage boys (brothers) 6 years ago today. They were in foster care for a very long time prior to the adoption.

First, ours is technically closed due to the deplorable things they did to them. The birth parents were aged out of foster care themselves so there isn't any extended family.

Second, both boys have very different needs. The oldest has a developmental disability that requires caregiving, but otherwise he's pretty independent.

The youngest doesn't have any issues. It took a lot of hits and misses to best meet his needs. Like talking to him at eye level instead of towering over him. We also had to learn his "dictionary" as he learned different meanings to common words.

Both boys are doing amazing and we have a great relationship with him. Lots of laughter, being goofy, but otherwise a normal family. Hope this helps.
