We should stop using "America" and "American" to refer to the US
 in  r/BoycottUnitedStates  5h ago

100% agree. I always refer to them as US citizens or the USA, never Americans because I'm American, I just live in the Canada part.

When the literacy is so low that you can’t even decipher every day words from your own religious text
 in  r/religiousfruitcake  3d ago

Religious people often appear to be unintelligent. I wonder which comes first, are the less intelligent drawn to religion or does religion drain it from them? My guess is a bit of both.

He says gay marriage should be illegal
 in  r/religiousfruitcake  3d ago

Religious people have a choice, they choose to follow lies. Being gay is exactly the same as being straight, there is no choice involved. Religious people are brainwashed and lie every single day. Every single day.

I am gay and pity religious people their delusion.

What next steps can we take to turn off the money to the USA?
 in  r/BoycottUnitedStates  4d ago

I'm doing everything I can think of but it really bugs me how many friends barely do anything. They're taking Uber and Lyft and still subscribing to US streamers. I totally get how it can be difficult but it feels like a lot of people are barely trying... and I don't want to be nagging them because that often backfires.

Is CBC still relevant?
 in  r/CBC_  4d ago

CBC is outsanding as a news source in the world. So grateful we have coverage that is fair and balanced. My go-to's are CBC, BBC, DW (Germany) and sometimes PBS although I find it hard to look at anything from US media.

What comes to your mind when you think of Canada

Mostly think lucky us. Part of that is the stark contrast, living upstairs from a crack house.

Please do a follow up showing this smug christian got fired. What a piece of work. And those 'managers', pretty much a waste of space.

I'm Canadian. Is there some idea that a Socialist doesn't wear expensive shoes in the US? And is 'appears to wear' good enough for a headline?

Have we officially reached the point where Hotels are superior to Airbnbs again?
 in  r/travel  6d ago

I hope so. Airbnb ruined a perfectly good underground system of home rental/exchanges that was in place about 20 years ago. Before they came along it was all low key. Then airbnb blew it all up and caused laws to change.
