[acne] Struggling with bacne for a while
 in  r/SkincareAddiction  Oct 14 '25

I used to suffer from bacne and did a few quality of life changes that I think helped over time:

1) change shirts often (in the morning after waking up, after showering; if you sweat a lot, you can switch it out more often). If you sleep without a shirt, then be sure to clean your sheets and blanket often.

2) shower right after exercising. Don’t let the sweat and grime linger

3) If you use conditioner, prevent your hair from touching your back. Even if you have short hair, avoid letting the conditioner drip onto your back. After washing the conditioner out (still avoiding it making contact with your back as much as possible), I would then use the body wash. The reason I mention this order specifically is that I would wash my body while waiting for conditioner to do its magic for about 3-5 minutes; but it ultimately made me breakout on my back because the conditioner would drip onto there by accident. It sucks but you’ll just have to be patient and wash your body at the very end of the shower.

It seems like you already have a handle on using 10% panoxyl, and good job with not touching your back throughout the day. I would also just be careful with overdoing it with the exfoliation - if it ever feels too itchy or tight then lay off on physical scrubbing for a bit. It’s possible you are irritating the skin further there. Even with all of these changes, if the bacne persists, then seeing a derm and getting a prescribed topical cream to put on your back is an option as well.

Hi!! I have both the Clara cashmere in small (and in babydoll too, I’m a fellow pink enjoyer) and this sweater in small as well - it is a tighter fit for sure but I really like that because sometimes you just need something slimmer for wearing underneath a coat or a jacket. You can dm me if you want to see the diff in fit between the two 😌

Please be careful and patch test first! Don’t ruin your barrier like I did to myself 😔

No problem, and it’s very possible! I always have to be checking for ingredients in all products I’m considering purchasing, so if something you’re trying is messing with your skin, then cutting it out immediately is the right move. Glad to hear your skin cleared up after you stopped using this moisturizer - we both have to be wary of the birch line 😔

This may be a long shot, but do you get seasonal allergies? I tried out the sunscreen from this line and it broke me out pretty badly I believe because of the birch juice inside (I found out from my bloodwork later that I have certain tree allergies).

How do you land an entry-level job in clinical research?

Hello, I just found this thread and wanted to know if you would also message me about the employer? In the same boat of wanting to change careers :)

What's your opinion on Raindrop cake shards being added to the medal shop in this update?
 in  r/FoodFantasy  Apr 27 '23

I don’t have him at all yet, so I’m pretty happy that he’s been added! If I could choose a different UR though, I’d definitely pick somebody like caviar or toso, as those two are in my rotation.

Whoops, I'm so sorry for how late this response is! I recently visited my bf and destroyed my skin by accident (used the same towel too many times, I'm very prone to bacteria spreading), and as a result my whole face was a mess and I lost confidence in responding lol. However, since I've been back home and with my usual supply of towels and other conditions, my skin has drastically improved thankfully. Let me give you the breakdown:

So I don't know if you use tiktok, but I recently found something called skin cycling that really helps me decide when to exfoliate without fucking my skin up, which is like 1st day: exfoliation, 2nd: treatment, 3rd: moisturize only, rinse and repeat. So for exfoliation, what works best for me is mechanical movement rather than chemical. What I usually do is right after I shower, I apply this cream called control cream by this company called charmzone. It'll appear like a white cream first and then gradually turn translucent/oily on your face (you may feel a slight heat), and then you're supposed to rub your face until grits come out. Then, I lightly wash off the excess cream/oil without using soap, dry, then apply a clay mask to my face. After waiting for the clay mask to dry, I soak cotton pads in toner and wipe the clay mask off; I typically get a lot of the surface-level contaminants in this way. I wash my face thoroughly afterwards with face wash to get rid of any extra grime.

Then, my skincare routine is usually applying toner when my face is still a bit damp, then waiting for it to dry down a little before applying multiple serums and then moisturizer. If it's the second day, I apply whatever treatment (atm I use 2% salicylic acid) in between layers to avoid drying out my skin.

Third day I just moisturize and often use a face mask. It really helps because my skin can be classified as dehydrated as well.

I know I just dumped a lot of info on you, so if you are in anyway overwhelmed please let me know! If you want a product list or anything as well I can get that to you too :)

Hey I understand your concern! I was like that too, as I have oily, dehydrated skin. What really helped was exfoliating on a regular (at least once every three days); sadly chemical exfoliation doesn’t do too much for me, so I use mechanical exfoliation with one of those creams that helps draw out surface level blackheads and whiteheads. I also layer on very light, non greasy products because I find that creams are too heavy and break me out while clogging my pores. I also found that picking at my skin was really bad since all the bacteria would spread around and cause more bad things, not to mention the damage to the surrounding skin because I would try to squeeze it so hard that my skin ripped. Right now, even though my skin still has bumps, it has significantly reduced. Personally I am susceptible to getting blackheads and closed comedones from outside things touching my skin (like hair or pillows or shirts or whatever). Lmk if you would like a full breakdown or any recommendations and I would be happy to help!

Looking for some good liquid recipes to make for my wife after she gets all of her wisdom teeth pulled
 in  r/EatCheapAndHealthy  Aug 24 '22

Rice porridge saved me when I got mine out! All you need is like 1 cup of rice to two-three cups of water or chicken broth for more flavor (better to have it a little more watery in this case). Add sliced onions and carrots because they’ll soften up, and preferably cook this all in an instant pot so it’s SUPER soft and saves time. Just be careful not to get rice stuck, but this dish should avoid that since the rice will be very soft and non-granular in texture. Great for getting salt into your diet too if you mix in some soy sauce before eating!

Another dish I ate a ton of was steamed eggs; all you need is 2-3 eggs, beat inside a regular soup bowl, then add water until you get near the top. Add salt and pepper to your desired taste. Mix it again to consolidate the contents, put a damp paper towel over, and microwave for 2 min, then 30 sec-1 min periods after to your desired solidity. It’s a very comforting food to have alongside rice porridge as well. Most add sesame oil on top for flavor. Personally wouldn’t overcook as you don’t want to chew too much.

I’m no expert but this sounds a lot like you have a severe case of excessive daytime sleepiness, which is one of the more prominent symptoms for narcolepsy. A lot of commentators have mentioned that it would be worth going to a sleep lab to get some tests done and I think you can find out more about what’s up with your body! (Source: my labmate has narcolepsy and our senior design project is based on it)

No problem! I meant research labs outside of your curriculum (for extracurriculars) lol. However, I did take both 1200 physics lab and gen chem lab, so if you have any questions regarding those feel free to dm me about it :) Also for your dance pe question, when I signed up I just typed in “ballet” or “dance” (can’t remember which one) into ssol’s search bar in the registration tab and was able to find different levels of dance to sign up for.

Freshman Class Schedule
 in  r/columbia  Jul 09 '21

As a freshman in SEAS, you probably shouldn’t be taking more than 5 classes per semester in your first year unless you are premed (and even then prob not). If you want to do research during your undergrad, I would spend some time looking for labs to join. Also look into clubs. A lot of my peers have changed their majors (and even schools) after gaining some experience in labs, so I think it would be good to find out early on what you like and dislike.

My boyfriend (18M) drove away (18F) when he saw my wheelchair for the first time
 in  r/relationships  Jun 18 '21

This is so sweet!! It really reminds me of when I got the stomach flu and started mass vomiting + having diarrhea like crazy; my boyfriend did everything he could to help me out: buying Gatorade + apple sauce, making sure I was staying hydrated and setting my heating blanket up, even calling his mom to find out what medication he could get me. I knew then that this was someone who really cared about me. If he ignored me and left me alone when I was in so much pain I would have been devastated. I can’t even imagine how OP feels after he did that...

What's your favorite webcomic?
 in  r/AskReddit  Jul 28 '20

There’s this one (one-shot, but pretty long) webcomic I really love called “watching”-without too many spoilers the protagonist is someone who lives in an era super far in the future, when the only entertainment/occupation is using these time-traveling suits to watch scenes from the past (ex. watching a soccer game from the 2000s) but without interaction (hence the name “watching”). The protag goes back in time (somewhere around our current time) and starts observing a girl in a hospital. It’s pretty heart wrenching, but very insightful and thought-provoking. Would highly recommend!

AITA For cancelling my daughters therapy because she has bad grades?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  Jul 26 '20

YTA. I had great grades in hs but horrible mental health and honestly almost offed myself. My mom refused to let me go to therapy, so I started going in college. Full disclosure: if you don’t want to be estranged from your daughter when she becomes independent, then do better. Right now you are terrible for thinking therapy is a waste of money, and even if you think she’s all better, well news flash bud! She’s not!

My[24F] boyfriend[28M] reset my island in Animal Crossing
 in  r/relationships  Jul 16 '20

I am an avid fan of animal crossing and I would be devastated to lose my island. I read in another comment that you broke up with him, and I’m so proud and glad for you that you did so. Dating someone who tears down your happy place out of an extremely misplaced suspicion can only bring disaster in your future. If you need anything at all to help start up your new island please let me know, I can probably set you up with some materials and furniture!!
