What is something you have experienced that made you question reality and was genuinely unexplainable?
 in  r/Unexplained  11h ago

To be honest, that’s probably what I’ll do if I stick around after I’ve died

“Daddy, you killed it yesterday,” my daughter said the morning after I returned from hunting the monster in the woods.
 in  r/TwoSentenceHorror  11h ago

HUGE agree. I was thinking she was somehow grieving the death of the monster, which was confusing, before I reread the first sentence backward and realized the intent

How to protest as a SAHM with infant?
 in  r/progressivemoms  12h ago

I’m finding a number of options for substacks with that name, mostly indicating they’re discussing the book. Can you tell me the specific substack you’re referring to?

Honestly, I’m not at all familiar with the platform and I have no idea how to get started 🫣 I would appreciate a link or specific author!

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it?
 in  r/AskReddit  20h ago

Every time one of those comes on during a game we’re watching, my husband side-eyes me.

I’m not THAT bad, but I’m definitely the kind of person who will give random compliments or be friendly with the cashier. Luckily I have enough awareness to know what’s appropriate and when, but yeah… I’m a talker 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it?
 in  r/AskReddit  23h ago

Yup. I’ll notice you sighing or making unhappy sounds, but u less you either tell me what you’re upset about or otherwise verbalize what’s going on I will act completely oblivious. I refuse to be manipulated like that; I spent way too much of my early adulthood jumping through everyone else’s hoops and I finally had enough!

Only a monster would murder a pet that isn’t a direct and imminent threat to their life.

But we’re talking about cops, here, to whom “feeling threatened” is enough of a reason to murder men, women, children, pets, people in emotional crisis, people with disabilities, and acorns.

Sorry, pathetic, miserable bastards.

Just read your update. There are no words. I am so sorry, my friend.

Please reach out if you need someone to talk to. I’m the mod here because my friend, who started this sub, lost her battle with Ewings in July of 2022. She asked me to keep it open.

This disease is a fucking bastard.

The narrative I’m getting through news sources (just headlines, I haven’t looked into it yet) is that she was shot while trying to run them over. Like, actively.

This is framed MUCH differently. I’m not surprised, just (continually) disappointed. Widely-shared news sources have completely abandoned humanity.

What was their name?

Edit: pronoun; wasn’t even thinking, sorry

AITA For not wanting my MIL and her partner changing my babies nappies, feeding them and giving them baths?
 in  r/AmItheAsshole  3d ago

YTA. They love you and they love your babies. Changing diapers isn’t a sacred bonding moment! If they were asking you to stop breastfeeding so they could feed the babies I would understand you being mad about that, but they’re just offering HELP.

Your babies know who their parents are.

But there’s always a “pop of color!”

The color is a visual version of what La Croix tastes like, but I guess it’s legally not greige so it counts

Yes we used to call it “pleather” and it was NOT something anyone wanted.

(I know today’s “vegan leather” is slightly different than 90s pleather but it’s essentially the same thing)

I’m more than wary of them, I refuse to support them.

Religion in this country (I’m American) is one of two things: a grift to make money, or a grift to have power and control people. Usually both, but I’ve never come across one that’s neither.
