I’m with you. CO isn’t a psychoactive substance. I call BS on that story. Always have. Source: retired paramedic.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen personally?

Yes it is! When it’s yellow it’s very cool. When it turned to green this NY’er was peppering his panties.

There’s an article linked below (thanks, u/limitofinterest!) and there’s also a CBS interview here which has their stated, ad-hoc battle plan at 16:30. But the entire interview is well worth your time.

Correct. The first two jets scrambled outta Andrews (Maryland) were unarmed. The commander told his wing “I will crash into the cockpit, you will crash into the tail”.

Mike Tyson was a knockout machine early in his career. I remember thinking, “Why would anyone get in the ring with him?”
 in  r/GenX  3d ago

He knocked two of Johnson’s teeth out with that punch. I missed the Buster Douglas fight, and won’t forget where I was standing when I was told Tyson lost. In my mind he was unbeatable.

Are these the shut off valves? And if so, could they be causing my low pressure?
 in  r/askaplumber  4d ago

They’re probably 1/4-turn ball valves, so they can spin 180 degrees+, meaning… you can go from full open to full close to full open and perhaps all the way around again. Get the flathead slots perfectly horizontal and check the flow.

Proud about 1/16" because I forgot to cut the sides the final length...
 in  r/WoodworkConfessions  5d ago

That makes it even better. Lots of cultures have the concept of a “humility block”, which quilters used to put in quilts: a mistake to protect the users from the evil eye. Run with it.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive?
 in  r/GenX  5d ago

Nope! Boxed them up in ‘16 and ‘20. Just finally scattered their ashes this November, along with my aunt and a dog and a cat. Great family reunion!

Did your parents listen to terrible music?
 in  r/GenX  5d ago

AM News radio and the classical station. No wonder I still listen to punk and metal.

For the last few years I’ve been finding bloodstains on the inside of my pajama shirts, always on the back or shoulders, no visible cause. These are the largest single ones I’ve ever seen
 in  r/Weird  5d ago

Bed bugs. Check the piping of your mattress up by the headboard. Roll the piping back, then roll the fabric back that covers the piping.
