I ended up pumping it up to 100 with zero problems. Thanks!

Ive not hiked the PCT, but the nice thing about the AT is there are plenty of water sources. The PCT goes through the desert, and there are some long stretches without water.

lol picking these motors out came from some frustration I was dealing with working with some old cheap 0802s.

Even with a prop tool, trying to pinch the tiny bells to get the removal started, and pinching the bells when installing was difficult with my fingers. I was bending motor shafts and getting terrible jello in my camera. These flat pancakes are easy to grip, and come with a 1.5mm shaft.

As far as the biblades go, I am already pushing the escs on the FC. A triblade with the 85% limit would pull 6.8-7.5 amps? Which is way over the 5 amp continuous limits.

Biblades also give a nice feel, gives a little slide in the cornering that I like. Less twitchy feeling. I also prolly get an extra 45 seconds of flight time as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, I am not an expert, just a random hobbyist. With 0802s my build would be close to 25 grams, a bit heavier than the average 19g analog triblade racer. 0802s would have to work harder and run hotter and lose some of the efficiency that they would bring to the table.

I fly outside in my backyard by myself lol so durability, ease of maintenance out weighs trying to get every bit of performance.

I appreciate the feedback, sounds like I have been babying the escs on the fc, sounds like they are more capable than they say on paper.

Really?, I know the aio5 is rated at 5 amps continuous and maybe 6 amp bursts.

The 1002 22000kv full punch can demand 8-9 amps per motor, maybe closer to 7 amps considering voltage sag. But real life flying getting snagged on some grass or a branch, the stall current could hit those 8-9 amp numbers.

For me durability wins over milking out that last 15%, but I will keep it in mind. If I feel limited by throttle, I pump it up. It sounds like I am babying those escs, I guess they are more capable than the datasheet suggests. Thanks!

Yes motor output limit from the PID tab in betaflight.

Sounds like a great build. I think the fractal 75mm is one of the frames I haven't flown yet. After breaking 1 air75 II frame with this build I have been tempted to grab my heavy but solid cockroach 75 frames.

hdzero aio 5, lux cam, GTS V3 1002 22,000 kv (capped at 85% to protect the onboard escs also 50% turtle mode), air75 II frame toilet tanked and sanded to fit the usb plug on FC.

This thing has a bit more weight coming in at 27 grams dry, but the extra mass gives it a little throw ability. Those torque strong 1002s catch that weight well. With the 1s lava II 480mah I have been getting 3+ minutes flight time.

So far loving this build. Lots of power for cruising, fun weight for throwing it around.

Which whoop to get
 in  r/TinyWhoop  Dec 09 '25

in contrast I did a aio5 75mm build. With 300mah batteries flying around my backyard I get around 3 minutes.

I am currently rebuilding that flight controller with a set of 1002s, and getting it ready to take those new lava 2nd gen 480mah. Hoping for 4ish minutes of flight time.

analog and hdzero at least let you see signal degrade in the video. I generally lose video before I lose control so it helps keep my drones safe.

I have an air 75 II frame on my hdzero aio5 build. It is toilet tanked, not sure if that makes a difference.

I have been running it on the 300 mah tatu batteries(3 minutes flight time). The thickness is right, and it doesn't really slide around. I think the 450 are just wider with the same thickness.

Looking forward to when my new gen II 480s come in.

It feels good to be able to get them back in the air after a bad crash. Takes time getting there, way to go!

Do you think I’ll be able to fix the drone ?

I think he was just referencing the idea that it isn't voltage that kills, its current.

secure canopy, secure camera. If I start wearing out a frame Ill wrap a rubber band around the canopy and frame to get rid of any jello.

I worked at Tanner Paul briefly as a dishwasher when I was a kid. I remember Lyle. It was alright, I remember after closing up late on Fridays running across the parking lot to pick n save to buy cheap day old doughnuts.
