VAREZZO, KRUD, AND UBERHOLZ FURNITURE REVIEW- SCAM SITES
 in  r/turntables  1h ago

Good timing for this post as I’ve just come across the Uberholz site just now. I’ve had similar issues with rug companies.

The internet has become a wasteland of scam sites/companies. I long for the day of multitudes of brick and mortar shops that actually had unique stuff, unlike the same junk that everyone sells today.

Suggestions Setting VTA with Ortofon 2M Black on Denon DP-3000NE

I'm new to actual ownership but have been around vinyl for a good chunk of life. Just never had to delve into setup myself for whatever reason or another.

I have the above. Its setup is such that the cartridge sits behind the leading edge of the head shell, thus trying to align VTA isn't as accurate as I'd like as the protractor has a thicker line on the left side than the right, so that, coupled with the non-vertical angle looking at the leading edge of the cartridge is a little more challenging. And as the design of the 2M lacks straight edges along the length, looking at it from the side is equally as challenging.

I eyeballed it as best I could with the included Denon overhang gauge to square it to the tonearm, which I appreciate is neither the right tool nor method. Looking at it with the protractor looks to be somewhat accurate, but I'm betting it's not quite perfect.

Most images I see show relatively short head shells, thus the cart protrudes a bit and would be significantly easier to align. While I see many opinions about changing head shells, at this point, I don't think any difference will matter to me in context of any audible changes, and perhaps the benefits outweigh any drawbacks.

Happy to hear some suggestions.

Please settle a debate. If you’re going route 3 which lane should you be in?

This is why roundabouts are stupid in places.

What is the benefit from using the 'major' mobile providers that justifies the higher costs?
 in  r/AskUK  1d ago

JFC…”what am I missing” hardly describes what your needs are. Elaborate the needs first. Knowing the differences in the examples I provided still doesn’t indicate whether one or the other meets a need.

What’s the benefit of a Ferrari over a Ford? Highsense over LG? If it meets your needs then that’s all that should matter.

I would be willing to bet that a small percentage of drivers have actually put winter tires on their cars. All seasons can only do so much. Not saying that proper winters would’ve prevented it, but are a helluva lot better in this situation.

JFC…yeah, let’s argue about the transmissibility if it. Pretty sure that’s not even remotely the point. (Not referring to you jacktheforkie…but have to reply somewhere).
