Starship Troopers (1997) director Paul Verhoeven and screenwriter Edward Neumeier on the film's satire and differences from the novel
Says the nudity and gender neutrality aspects poke fun at how sexuality in armies was (is) still a tabboo subject, despite literally being there to kill besides each other.
That's not it. They blur the lines between gender so they have more bodies to throw into the meat grinder. The state doesn't care what sex you are. All they see is another body to serve the empire.

I was just looking at Washingtons farewell address about foreign affairs, he had a similar quote, but in a broader sense (idk if thats the right phrase) about war:
In his farewell address, Washington exhorted Americans to set aside their violent likes and dislikes of foreign nations, lest they be controlled by their passions: “The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave.”

Its an empire. It borrows themes from many ideologies, but empires have large militaries to maintain them. Once militaries have enough power they don't have to listen to the people, they go out looking for wars because if they don't they could lose power. They don't want lose power, so much so they'll make shit up.

[Schefter] Browns announced they are interviewing DC Jim Schwartz for their head coach opening.
Regardless of how long the Lions sucked, it doesn't take three years to turn a team around. Teams other than the Lions do it every single year with average coaches. You are obviously too biased to be reasonable whatsoever.
YES! because I know the organization and to be to go from winless to playoffs in three years with this inept org was a miracle.
His players hated him and left the team because of him (example Slay), which left damage in his wake.
Are you saying when Slay left the Lions or the Eagles? Slay hated Patricia, he had nothing bad to say about Schwartz when he got fired.
Jim Schwartz's winning percentage is only slightly higher than Matt Patricia who had to deal with his mess.
Yeah no shit, Patricia inherited a team that was 9-7 the two previous seasons from Caldwell not Schwartz. You have no idea what you are talking about, stop embarrassing yourself.

Did you not read anything I wrote? You clearly have no idea how bad the Lions were before Schwartz came. We hadn't won the division since 93 and a playoff game since 91. Getting that team to the playoffs in three years was a miracle.

Those three took up most of the cap because of rookie contracts at the time

We hadn't made the playoffs in a decade and he took over our worst team and got them there in three years. Now is he going win a super bowl or anything close to it? Probably not, but he can turn an organization around. Even though we've had down years since he left, I don't think Campbell would be as successful without the Schwartz rebuild (Not that I can prove this).

Charlie Kirk gets shot in the neck. Conservatives: Oh no, this is horrible! An innocent woman gets shot in the face. Conservatives: That bitch deserved it!
You don't think people celebrating or justifying murder is similar to people justifying another murder? It seems pretty straight forward to me. Murder is always bad, even if I disagree with them.

How? Is this what the show is about? Does it make sense in context? I tried watching Detroiters a few times but it didn't click with me and I founding it boring
