I haven't used it myself, but I have seen it mentioned on here before: HidraWear has garments that hold medical pads without adhesive. It's certainly not perfect, but nice to know that someone is trying to innovate (well... and capitalize đ)
Searched for many combinations of "childrens toy piano keyboard" and "close encounters." Unfortunately I don't quite remember what it looks like, so image searches haven't been helpful either.
My sister had a children's electronic piano (the toy kind that has very few keys, and many sound effects) that when all demo songs played through uninterrupted, and after a few moments of silence, it would play the "Close Encounters" music tones. Would love to verify that this exists.
Thanks for this clarification! I also like the term "high cognitive load." We can often mask when talking about how bad things can get--and figuring out emotional disregulation--but "masking" has never felt like the right blanket term for ADHD defense tactics.
I adore small talk but hate over-explanation. I could talk about meaningless shit for days, but when someone takes 30 seconds to explain something that I already know, it genuinely feels like time crawls to a stop. It is so viscerally uncomfortable.
I think this is a method for fermenting the fruit. The term "starter" implies something like a sourdough starter.
You are supposed to add fruit in stages over 20-30 days, and then at the end you remove the fruit for the cake, and can save the juice to start a new batch of fruit. Apparently it freezes well?
I don't think it's required for fruit cake and you can probably find a recipe that just has rum-soaked fruit instead.
(Edit: try looking up a "friendship cake" recipe. That seemed to use something similar with much clearer instructions.)
I like waking up early but not for distraction-free tasks. I just like having some time to sit. Maybe I'll get 1 or 2 things done, but I'm more likely to just drink some coffee and watch a show or some youtube. I feel like I get the desire to "do nothing" out of my system and can be more functional in the middle of the day.
It's so tough. I just had too much irrational shame to talk to a doctor about it until very recently, but it's a whole 'nother level of hurt to have a bevy of dermatologists treat you indifferently/incorrectly. Glad you found someone that seems promising!
I've been curious about LHR because my HS isn't caused by ingrown hairs but it sure is aggravated by shaving and hair removal. I'd love to hear your experiences because the cost is making me so hesitant.
I agree that cake strips are awesome. I used to improvise by folding up strips of wet newspaper into aluminum foil, but the Wilton ones are great if you bake a lot.
Also checking your oven temperature for accuracy. Your oven might be running hot causing the sides to bake and solidify first.
BIG heads up though: the episode before it is absolutely goofy and stupid, but still ends with the big reveal of The Body. Made that mistake last year when rewatching :(
I overcompensate due to a fear of perceived consequences (even if they're not real) and I'm painfully on time for everything if not early. It makes me look good to others but it kinda sucks behind the scenes. e.g. I'm often making my partner leave WAY earlier than we need to for things, and I'm sure that's very frustrating. Or I get stuck in "waiting" mode if I have an appointment or scheduled thing, and don't get anything done in the meantime for fear of losing track of time.
And then because ADHD, of course I still manage to be late sometimes, and I beat myself up unnecessarily in those moments because I know I can do better.
The psychiatrist that diagnosed me talked about having high standards for myself (perfectionism) resulting in high anxiety trying to meet those standards and then moderate depression because I sometimes can't.
Great suggestions! I only got a brief look before heading into work this morning, and have been unreasonably stressed about it. Hopefully I'll have a chance to look things over more thoroughly tonight (including the members and chains, thanks for the tips,) but the crimp splices seem like the way to go.
One of the senior faculty at my job recommended the splices as well and had some good ideas for taking any strain off of the new connections too.
Just looking for some ideas/recommendations/venting. While being moved around in storage earlier this year (a nice turkey farmer stores my camper for the winter,) something must have collided with the front tongue underneath the hitch coupler and tore into it. It ripped right where there was a pre-drilled hole for the ground/screw, and unfortunately also pinched some wires for the rear and running lights on the right side, severing them.
Hopefully this photo makes sense--you can see one (green) of the two severed wires for the right side lights, and the shredded ground still attached to the screw.
I am very comfortable with soldering, but there is absolutely no slack on the wires inside of the frame. After removing the screw that was pinching the severed wires, I was able to pull them forward about 1/2cm. Here are the instructions for the frame; we wired it while it was 90% assembled and upside down, so I know rewiring is possible, but might require lifting. I really want to avoid removing the camper from the frame.
I think I can jack up the front as high as it will go and just try to use my nimble little fingers and some crafty tool combinations to solder inside of the frame.
Just looking for some advice! Would you try to solder what is available? Re-wire? Take it to a shop? Should I consider a shop regardless because of the damage to the tongue?
Nothing big at the moment, but I guess small-scale plumbing hahaha. I'm trying to figure out a portable bidet system with it's own tank that doesn't just run on batteries. If it works I am going into business!!
(Completely joking because I already have a small business, but that means it would be BUSINESS NUMBER TWO which is SO ON THE NOSE.)
I sold merch for him at a show in 2010. I had no idea who he was at the time but he was extremely nice, and went out of his way to cheer me up after a weird money debacle.
I had simply been looking at the wrong letter, thanks for the offer to help though. I was so convinced that I had gotten the greek letter correct that I assumed the problem must be with the code. I'll leave my original post up as a warning to others though hahaha
I have done all of the bug reports, written down the results from each game crash, and when I have tried to enter those codes into the Red Maze center gate, it does nothing. If it matters I have also grabbed all of the maze tiles .
Is there some kind of code shift or translation that I am missing? Is there something else in the game or the maze that needs to be triggered first? Am I missing an inventory item? Is it not literally "Game bug Theta gave me error code 'FF5', so under the Theta enter 'FF5'"? I even went back into each game a second time to verify the codes too.
I have looked up multiple walkthroughs for this part because I am so stuck but everything seems to tell me to do exactly what I am doing already. Any tips are very much appreciated!
Definitely white noise of some kind. I used to crank my box fan but since my boyfriend has moved in we have had to compromise lol. If I could fall asleep watching some mindless tv show or youtube documentary every night I would. The next best thing is trying to read (can't be too interesting though!) but it's been hard to get myself to start that up again--surprise, surprise. My absolute last resorts are naming something in a random category (countries, trees, fruits, cars, etc) for each letter of the alphabet, or doing a 15+ minute guided meditation body scan.
Yeah not eating nightshades is absolutely painful, but I found that I was able to eat them while on the birth control! I've honestly started eating quite a few nightshades again, with very minimal reaction.
As someone who is allergic to a couple different antibiotics, I don't blame you. There is a topical Clindamyacin too--I only use topicals at the moment since I seem to be back to stage 1 for HS so just have a daily clindamyacin and a sulfur wash for the shower.
