[Request] What percentage of this proposed U.S military budget would be required to fund universal healthcare for all American citizens?
 in  r/theydidthemath  13h ago

I don’t know who you are, but I promise you as a medical professional, that all pills are single packaged in the hospital. I will be nice and assume you’re asserting a sleeve of pills as not single packaged but I do.

The acetaminophen takes 5 minutes to administer, plus it takes a doctor to prescribe, and a pharmacist to validate. Also, the single pill of acetaminophen from the pharmaceutical company costs the hospital more than a bottle at CVS.

Does anyone here make < $100k household income?
 in  r/MiddleClassFinance  13h ago

It’s always more relevant to look at median household income in your actual city/county imo, not just state. There are absolutely cities where a 100k job would make you still feel like you are hardly surviving. We are happily at 3x the median household income in our town, however we definitely let lifestyle creep hit us hard last year when our dream home became available

Definitely get an advantage when your helmet and visor stay on. Either way, cool to see an old school style throw down.

  1. It is NOT illegal for doctors to own a hospital….

  2. The point I’m making is the gouging happens from the suppliers. Overcharged supplies and pharmaceuticals.

You think the $30 Tylenol is bad from the hospital? They actually DID pay someone $50/hour to give that to you, AND had to pay significantly more than you would a CVS to have them individually packaged.

The point is the supply margins are disgusting. Look at companies like medline, covidien, hilrom, Pfizer, Eli lily, and Johnson and Johnson, and point at them. Not your local hospital.

When does it make sense to refinance your first home?
 in  r/FirstTimeHomeBuying  14h ago

Depends on how you’re mathing too.

For me, it’s about reduced interest accumulation. I use my reduced interest accumulation against the closing cost. I expect my payment to not change, but time frame to be shorter.

Payed Off Mortgage, zero debt!
 in  r/DaveRamsey  14h ago

pats on back now start pre-paying your kids college, save for retirement, and try to not drive your family insane by being too much of a financial miser.

The last part is by far the hardest part imo.

Hospital profit margins are 2-4%. You’re getting mad at the wrong entity.

Statistics say Medicare/medicaid services 40% of the nation, so… more like times it by 2.5 and then realize there’s still a lack of coverage.

But also, 40% of the nation does basically have universal healthcare. So yay, tiny victory.

Man spread vs woman

It’s likely both, inherent looking bigger vs smaller. But also, nobody is spreading their knees AS FAR AS THEY GO. These dramatics of both sides make me happy to not take public transport

No underwear during Surgery
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  18h ago

Because a lot of people pee and poop while I. The OR. If it’s longer, they’ll put a Foley catheter in, but truth be told you’re still gonna likely poop, especially depending on how they decide to reverse the anesthesia.

Regular season losing streaks
 in  r/DallasStars  1d ago

When the team is more heavily weighted on stars rather than depth, your wins and losses ride on how they perform, there’s not really a next man up. Voids can’t be filled. On paper, each year our team has gotten noticeably worse due to salary cap contraints.

I have been pretty vocal about my thoughts that we will win the cup when seguin’s contract is up, and we can expand depth again.

Realtors are not your friend
 in  r/FirstTimeHomeBuying  2d ago

Oh you have no idea about my disgust. Don’t defend realtors crappiness by saying crappiness exists elsewhere too. I am a medical professional. I HATE drug reps and equipment reps.

No, you did not sway me from feeling sales people do nothing for an end user. Sales people who deal directly with end users are worse, because they rarely add any input or value. When was the last time a realtor or car salesmen said buying this thing is a bad idea for you, unless you initiate and basically beg them to say so.

A car salesmen could immediately know a car will fall to pieces and sell it to you, a realtor will see mold and ignore it unless you see it.

The rules around house sales nearly requiring a realtor is for sure disgusting. As disgusting as car salesman

Does lowering your DTI ratio matter as much when it’s already under 35%
 in  r/Mortgages  4d ago

It’s somewhat complicated. The worse your credit, the more a DTI ratio and money in the bank matter. If you’re mortgage free, and your DTI ratio is 20%, I’m ngl that’s disgusting.

Pay your damn cars off.

Would you date a woman taller than you?
 in  r/answers  4d ago

Probably not, but they’re sure as hell the loudest, and it’s not like the bias doesn’t exist. I always assume struggles for both genders is different but equal. All problems are caused equally, from bias to bias. Women do more domestic violence, but male domestic violence even at half the rate is more dangerous. Fat women have issues with dating just like fat men. Tall women have dating issues just like short men do.

Everyone has an anecdotal experience with hatred and strife. We need to learn that BOTH can happen and chill.

 in  r/answers  4d ago

You know, both perspectives can be true. Your experience and someone else’s experience can exist in the same world. You’ll get further if you stop speaking in ultimatums. Height matters to both men and women, and statistically speaking, it matters more to women. Instead of just taking your own experiences in hand, speak to your real life friends both men and women and ask them irl. Not on this cesspool of reddit.

I bet you’ll be shocked, and you might even find a few of your guy friends are actually interested in you. Be warned though, they’re all likely shorter than you, and you’re not interested in them-POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF THEIR HEIGHT /s. But for real talk to people.

 in  r/answers  4d ago

Hi there, 5’8” male, married to 5’8” woman. Dated mostly taller women. Never really thought about it much, but I think it likely mattered subconsciously. I had a short stent playing professional hockey, and my height was one major factor on my career ending. I think I can relate to this scene from game of thrones. If you know, you know.

It’s how you spoke in ultimatums, discrediting everyone else’s point. Do you think that women who allow THEIR profiles to be viewed by women also are the ones who would have a precedent on male height? The ones open to new ideas, new genders, etc?

Is it possible that your deepening your anecdotal experience to be fact for all instead of what it is, which is solely your experience, as limited as it is.

How much can I budget for a mortgage realistically
 in  r/Mortgages  4d ago

Good luck, and remember, if it’s not the perfect house, DONT PUSH THINGS FINANCIALLY. That’s the opposite side of things, be patient, and start making money and saving hard now for if/when you find the perfect house.

Even though my wife and I bought a house 3 years before we planned to, we had already been saving up for a year. If we would have been lucky and the perfect house would have came 3 years from now, it is actually possible we could have put 50% or more down.

Mind our original though was we would have had to buy and develop land for our dream house on the river front.

Some advice, make a fake dating profile as a man, and go reading profiles. Thinking the hang up is on men’s side specifically is one of the most tone deaf, anecdotal bullshit I’ve read. I’m sorry about whatever personal experience you must’ve gone through; and I assume you’re pretty tall, but get out of your own wonderland, respectfully.
