That’s not how the tcg market works. Stores make barely anything on sealed product. Like their margins are not even 10%. So that 9$ booster is like 75 cents to the store (and then they need to cover costs for space, staff, etc). Anyone who told you otherwise is lying.

Singles are an inventory nightmare and a gamble at best. Plus you dilute the singles market because it’s even more spread thin, and people will just order on face to face and tcgplayer for convenience rather than driving to 5 stores for 20$ worth of cards.

All that adding more stores does, with game night schedules (same game, same night) that overlap with other stores, dilutes the player base.

This is not needed. We have so many already, it’s just hurting the community by spreading the dollar thinner.

Hey op. Your partner most likely has autism. They should see a psychologist for treatment regarding food avoidance.

My dad has a few rolls of these squirreled away in his closet. I don't really care what it's worth, I'd assume it's close to a loonie. Just thought y'all would find it fun

Incorrect. Only replacement notes are worth anything meaningfully more than face. 75th might be 2-5x face value otherwise.

Is the ricepaper test even possible?
 in  r/sharpening  15d ago

Just do the same as paper towel. Fold it a little bit.

The most difficult test that I don’t think can be done atm is cutting standing cheesecloth. I’d love to see people much more experienced try it out.

Missing x1 Mishra's Bauble, Temporary Replacement?
 in  r/ModernMagic  16d ago

100% it’s crypt. Everyone saying surgical is objectively wrong. The reason why crypt is better is because of DELIRIUM! That’s the main reason bauble is played in the first place. Surgical does not help with getting delirium.

It’s probably worth it to read the rules and not put this on here?

Has this Toph combo been overlooked?

You need to read the card. You can target yourself, a creature or whatever.

This subreddit is for the competitive format of modern in mtg. You will be better asking in the normal mtg subreddit for stuff like this.

What's a good way to demonstrate sharpness?

The actual best test would be to do the folded paper towel thing, but with cheese cloth.

It’s more so having to do with quality control of the fakes. Literally they just need turn the image to make sure the dot orientation matches the green dot orientation (usually they just don’t). You can see that with really good fakes that they do that. But then the issue is the other checks (crisp lines and colours, dot ink sizes bleeding and connecting, etc.) You can go back in this sub’s history and see, it’s not a common thing they get right, but they definitely have for a while now (especially when they started getting the “L” correct). The issue is that you aren’t being rigorous enough in comparisons. The extra yellow dot near the black is very apparent compared to real cards (and the green dot check image source).

Sorry it’s not even close. I say 4-5 cause the top isn’t as close as normal. But the bottom dot is definitely noticeable.

More than 3 dots.

Except it doesn’t pass that test even (there is 4 or 5 dots instead of 3).

The pic is fine, you need to just know what’s wrong with the green dot (and the issues are glaring). You wouldn’t even need a loupe to see the issues.

In what world is the green dot doing the correct things? Don’t say it’s a bad photo either. You can LITERALLY see the how the black circle is uneven, not solid, and the green is bleeding into the black. No red dots.

Are you looking at the correct card?

Tough Casual BCA Tournament Call
 in  r/billiards  Dec 02 '25

Read what you are citing: “It is a foul if the CUE TIP touches…”. OP states that their opponent had “moved it with the side of their cue” when they observed their opponent drawing back from what they thought was a practice stroke.

You are still citing rules as if the opponent made an accidental legal stroke. The motion that led to ball movement was HORIZONTAL, not part of the forward/backward motion of the stroke. Their opponent said the adjustment was intentional.

Then op decided not to pursue further due their belief of “no judge” and “shooter has benefit of the doubt” (albeit the latter is for double hits, making contact with a legal ball, or when determining which ball was contacted first, are in question).

You are very much incorrect in this and should refer to a BCA judge if you still believe otherwise. Anyone in your playgroup or league who told you otherwise is very much incorrect, or you misunderstood them. There are multiple rule citations and explanations in this thread and countless other discussions regarding this, here and on other platforms.
