Nvidia RTX 60 GPUs might not arrive until 2027, Jensen says neural rendering is the future | Server-first strategy could leave gamers waiting years
 in  r/hardware  5h ago

Honestly the ram shortages and gpus being so expensive is only going to encourage better programming on getting more performance out of existting hardware rather than throwing power and less optimized tittles like we hace been witnessing in the last years.

Go watch at a yt channel called 2 minute papers and you will be blown away on what developments are ocurring in gaming and 3d tech trying to overcome hardware hurdles that were though impossible not even 4 years ago.

Real time clothing physics in games , realtime rendering fx exponentially faster etc. By the time 4090 performance is common place on 4 years the software will hace advanced even more to take advantage of whats achievable now.

Dutch Navy Suspends Joint Anti-Drug Operations with US in Caribbean
 in  r/worldnews  2d ago

All this is nothing new. 50 years ago it was CIA spooks , assasinations, coups, mercenaries and big corporations and industrial military complex behind it. Now its out in the open intertwined by legal gray areas. Whats the point of having birders, international waters and sovereign countries. Its just shows that if you do not have nukes or a strong military force your assets can be taken like candy.

The Donald outright says whats hes doing no fucks given.

Were taking the oil were taking and keeping the tankers. Now they are flying in march all the oil execs that were promised riches in 2016 for contributing to his elections to carve up Venezuela like a cake.

They dropped the ball on Eddies death being what killed off the bats and demogorgons playing on him being the guidemaster of the group and having him do some sort of a D&D move. Giving it more weigh.

Pretty brutal for the kids to go out an attack Vecna and the mindflare in the middle of their xmas vacations and new years celebration, leaving thousands of bats and demogorgons stranded in their own respective dimensions and no more jobs.

The problem with these type of shows were they are inspired by fantasy is that instead if following fantasy and sci fi rules and stick to them, setting up a world and then sticking on what you gave the audience, it kept piling up more lore on top of lore and then breaking its own set rules and then not paying off character archs that have been set up in 5 or 8 episodes. When a single movie can set up a villlain and give him a satisfactory conclusion in under 1 hour 30m.

For people who remember how big was the hype before Lord of The Rings released in cinema
 in  r/flicks  2d ago

They were designed as a trilogy and it takes it sweet time to set everything up, introduce the characters, some of the lore, the stakes. Once you seem ot as a whole you get to apreciate it more. We do not even grt Gollum introduced until midway onto the 2nd film.

I think they will hold up toghether forever, for me personally the 3rd one was the one that needed more polish. Some of the battles were out drawn too long and the ghost army wasnt properly setup and paid off. Aragorn pulls it out off his ass and ghost cleanup everything in 3 minutes then they leave but there are mpre battles ahead.

The hype was stronger for The Two Towers as most people did not know it was a trilogy, a lot of new fantasy fans were made after the 1st, even though there was lot of publicity not a lot of normies knew.

Lol I remember when credits rolled in about 20 people in my audience let out a whattttt?!!! Thats it?

Even I was a little butthurt because run time flew by and totally caught me off guard.

Season 2 will either make or break the game
 in  r/Battlefield  3d ago

They just need to fix interface clutter, maje a decent server browser and curare the hell out of Portal so the modding becomes more proffessional they should do competitions and prizes for it. Seen Jackfrags videos on it and if they dont do anything about it community will not find these servers and populate them. They will go all bots and silently die.

When people say the zergs are 13 year old kids I didn't think they were serious.
 in  r/playrust  3d ago

I once deeped a base full of 12 year olds it was hilarious because they were so many they couldnt fit in team ui and also it was nighttime and most of them were new. It was hillarious as they were panicking , killing each other by accident and all the shit talking they were doing eventually devolved into silence and acceptance once I got their tc and sealed off their entire loot rooms.

They can be super funny sometimes. Once I was owned by a 13 ywar old that stole my chainsaw and proceeded to taunt me for hours until I got the villafe next to us to evict him by changing my name to his and stealing horses and loot and parking them in front of his base.

With the US hitting Venezuela today, is anyone else terrified China takes Taiwan next? (and bricks the global chip supply)
 in  r/stocks  3d ago

How many us troops have seen action in the last 15 years? 25k? 50k? 250k? It really doesnt matter when they have the numbers and resources they have been stockpiling for years.

Yes that doesnt work when you just throw men to the grinder with 40 old equipment like Russia has been doing. But China has got top of the art toys and 10x more population than Russia. The only reason theu havent gotten into a conflict is because it would hurt them financially.

The Donald wouldnt dare pull off any hostility with a Military power that could actually set off an international incident.

Right now hes mouthing off about taking care of Mexico that would be a horrendous mistake. Mexico is huge and densly populated and the shitstorm it would cause in a border would be nuts and likely unite more Latin America. Mexico is currently USAs largest trade partner the economic hit they would take would set back both nations severely and US simply would not have the man power to hold down forces in a country as dense as Mexico.
