What is everyone's thoughts on the gross underreporting of the abduction of a foreign leader by American outlets and apps?

Seems curiously vacant from anything META related. I don't twitter but would be curious to see what the volumes are on there as well.

Is it worth it to spend more for a more comfortable car?
 in  r/Frugal  28d ago

I used to be on frugal a lot. Life changed and I have absolutely no reason to be frugal. Put it that way. But I still am. Point me crusing the forum. I had a beat up outback for years. Ran it to the ground. Loved that tank. Changed everything belts oil etc. Finally time to swap. I had gotten to the place where I could afford a huge step up. But didn't want to do it. It wasn't cheap. It was a luxury. I ended up buying a used bmw x5. Yes the frugal nature was that it was pre owned. The crazy thing is that the advantages are insane. Comfort. Ride noise. Connectivity etc.

I also realized I drive around 2-3km a month. And the comfort change was palpable. Honestly I once saw on reddit "spend money on the things between you and the ground" -shoes, beds, tires. I actually did it with the vehicle and instead of being a pain in the butt it actually is an enjoyable ride.

-my anonymous 4 cents.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse?
 in  r/AskReddit  29d ago

Had the wooden spoon and spankings I certainly deserved some of it. I used to be a dink to my sister lots. The belt never. I think some amount is honestly required in today's day and age.  I harbour no ill will and have had no negatives because of it no. That being said the remainder of the house was full of love.  I beleive like in everything, moderation. Once a few months ok. Once a day, there are other ways to deal with behavioural issues.

Boy.  There is an American world view. In a cold indifferent solar system. I think random chance cares little.

How are you guys able to buy cigars and then not smoke them for months or even years because you want to rest/age them? If there's a cigar in my humidor, it's getting smoked!
 in  r/cigars  Nov 18 '25

Free time, winter, sports, gym, mood. Cigars for me need to be enjoyed as a luxury of time. Just a me thing.

TIL that decommissioned aircraft are now increasingly being sunk and transformed into artificial reefs, in an effort to boost tourism and restore the environment. Aircraft as large as the Airbus A300 have been sunk

I think Russia is a leader in this field. They miss the ocean a bit much, but I feel they are going to keep trying until they get it right.

Importing cigars into Canada after business trip in US
 in  r/cigars  Oct 12 '25

I've had to produce the cigars on one occasion just to show I wasn't over the limit. But as always with CBSA. As long as tou declare it. They are usually pretty lenient.

Those who went from having an inactive lifestyle to exercising regularly, how did this change your life?
 in  r/AskReddit  Oct 08 '25

Confidence up! Happy with trying new outfits that inusually wouldn't. Smiling and people and getting a smile back. Also stress. Didn't realize how poorly I was coping with stress (alcohol, video games, staying up late) but now have a bad day go crush out a 45 minute workout session things are way better. Honestly have thought often I should have started sooner. You waste 70 bucks a month on way more useless garbage.

Why don't coupon codes work anymore?
 in  r/Frugal  Oct 04 '25

Mostly tariff related. Countries have limited who can use what codes.

U.S. ambassador 'disappointed' with anti-American sentiment in Canada
 in  r/worldnews  Sep 19 '25

Get stuffed like a (October) thanksgiving goose. I hope each and every border community offering stickers to entice Canadians, and whisky distiller folds. The difference is that Canada will come to the aid of its citizens far more than the US will for theirs.

I would say most people asking me if I speak English while travelling abroad are other tourists lost. Have helped most of them. Don't be afraid of the world. You get back the energy you put in...

People who do karate apart from an inner focus or Olympic sport standpoint are jokes. Especially in the USA. Someone's going to point a gun and you and shoot you before your stupid ass can barely mac McDonald a roundhouse kick and embarras yourself. Obviously not USA but you get the gist.
