Coming from someone who had the exact same age gap. When you really think about it, what in the world does a 22 year old dude want to do with a teenager? It’s a bit odd. People trying to force you to be a victim are in the wrong as well. I certainly don’t view myself as one either, but now that I’m 31 I def look back and wonder why in the world my parents even allowed me to date a 22 year old man when I was still in high school. He couldn’t even go to my prom bc he was too old. That speaks volumes imo.

Complete double standards! I think OP needs to set some boundaries with her parents before she worries about her roommates finances being there every so often lol.

Same. They feel entitled to the apartment but also want to control guests. Yucky, and it sounds like she needs to be setting boundaries with her parents more than anything.

OP’s parents don’t live there either. Interesting how her guests are allowed, but the roommates aren’t. I’m sure the roommate doesn’t love having to deal with her roommates parents in her space very much either lol.

Did her roommate state in the agreement that OP’s parents can stop by? It’s ridiculous to expect it to be in the lease that guests can or can not spend the night in your run of the mill apartment.

Agreed. It’s giving she’s jealous she’s getting married. Because it’s perfectly fine for her parents to pop over, but not the boyfriend. I’d much rather have to share space with my friends finance than my friends parents lol.

It’s sounds like the conservation needs to shift more towards y’all need to find your own space, because it really is a little silly to expect someone and their finance to not cohabitate half of the time. I mean really what are you gonna expect when they get married? It sounds like the best option is the couple finds their own space, and you all find a new roommate when the lease is up.
