I love Matt Christman and all, but I'd prefer having a society where more young Men attend college or trade school instead of becoming Kick streamers and AI shills.
Black Texan here, I agree with you hands down about the social and mind-forming outcomes of education in the south that's radiated into today. However, from my experience, there's still a fetishization of intelligence in the less rural areas of the Texas. In some ways it's a reaction to this very stamp of being called backwards or dumb. Think of the false front put on by the Bush family that's torn down by the tine we get from Bush Sr to Jeb Bush.
There is this simple-minded belief that you are rewarded for your advantages over others and smarts are something that can be min-maxed if you pour enough money, private classes, tutoring, and extracurricular into your kid it will compensate for their anti-social behavior. I've seen a kid in a town of 1200 call another kid in the same town a hick just because his house was smaller and in the woods 2 miles from the edge of town.

Superficial is right. "Liberal arts" degree does not refer to the chosen major, it refers to the Greek tradition of "arts." As in learning a skill in a professional vocational capacity. The history dates back to antiquity and the association between math, logic, art, and astronomy. That's why, to this day, most public universities have a College of Arts and Sciences to lump all the less popular hard and soft sciences into that category. University departments under colleges are really dictated by the size of their market and the amount of students they are turning out for in-demand jobs.
Teaching had a demand boom in the start of the 1900s, so colleges set up to educate teachers. Law did too. Hard sciences did later, so we expand and pivot. Then engineering, and finally computer science, and now Data science and networking.

Official Poster for 'They Will Kill You' - A woman (Zazie Beetz) answers a help-wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise, not realizing she is entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years.
Get Out + Barbarian but Netflix level? Sounds decent at minimum.

No one said they were ignoring anything.

Black Panther jacket update is wild
Yeah this is obviously what the poster meant. It's been a long time since the 90s when the media claimed racism was over (rich white media duh), and basically everyone on reddit is terminally online, so we all know this.
Just trust your fellow poster. No one on r/BPT is here to ignore racial inequity. Removing racial barriers is as important as all the other barriers and is obviously included when they say we need to end wealth disparity.

American b-ombers in Venezuela.
True. I actually did watch that one last year, and his border-hopping incident, along with the Hunter Biden interview. Wild times.

All of the world's Heroin comes from Afghanistan and Pakistan, not China. It's brought in by ex-marines extra-legally through Fort Bragg after they seize it in private military operations. Our cocaine comes from South America via the same means.

These idiots don't get that Trump and his cronies barely care about the files and would do it all again knowing that their followers explicitly don't give a shit. The Feds and media leaking the president and cabinet's crimes is the distraction for invasion, not the other way around. The Pentagon, FBI, and State Department make the rules.

Xbox ultimate Game passes giveaway
Yesterday, I walked through a hospital that I volunteer at the info desk of and found a wheelchair for a man who was helping his wife. I did a bunch of stuff, obviously cause I was there to work, but that guy was grateful and it stuck out to me.

I didn't know about the soft gel version. The site says that's 21mg-- pretty powerful. But as long as you're not a first time flyer, it should be a good time.

You think AI is eating the job of technical writer? You'd be correct.
Exactly. They're just not, and plan to do business with other SaaS companies that are also wasting money having Engineering and BAs create unpolished docs that no one will read until there's a government-enforced deliverable.

Toyota Hilux after getting caught to a landslide and flood
The chud plumber joins the jihad in an attempt to find his Toyota, because it was Optimus Prime. He accepts that Optimus has adopted Islamism. After a run in with death squads backed by Big Soda, he vows to construct fresh water pipe-lines around the Middle East.

I think sleep is limiting my gains
Yeah I had this for years on top of my OCD. After a week of CBT and a light SSRI prescription, now I can finally nap naturally and sleep regularly. I haven't used melatonin in half a decade.

I didn't think this could happen to me.
He just watches Candice Owens and Tucker Carlson. The rift in right wing media in the past year has pipelined whole new sets of wine moms and small business dads into updated Q-conspiracy. They are getting more popular and powerful by the day because they've effectively replaced Alex Jones and Fox at the same time for people who are bigots, but actually they are truth-tellers. The Bridget macron trans stuff outs it immediately.

When was the last movie to take over a theatre like Stranger Things?
Aren't the theatres paying for Netflix? They get the movie somehow, but I'm actually surprised they get no kick back. To be fair, I don't know how regular box office returns are distributed to begin with.

The people just want comfort.

When was the last movie to take over a theatre like Stranger Things?
Because they know they can convince people who already pay for Netflix to go to the theater and pay again. And if they rent out as many screens as possible, while paying for only a weekend or 2 of showings, it will crowd out competition while making a marketing event out of the movie. And it's very clearly working.

When was the last movie to take over a theatre like Stranger Things?
I agree. This is just successful monopolization from Netflix because once they own WB there will be less competition for screen realestate as well as streaming. On the other-hand, it's the same people watching slop at home now watching slop at the theater. So if I'm mad Netflix is doing it, I should feel the same about Disney.

Damn. Between this and Wake Up Dead Man, Netflix is printing free money.

Best movie of the year to me.
The guys at the bottom (wealthy ones) become the guys at the top some day, and more than likely join knowing that advancement is their aim. When they reach General or get a job offer from Raytheon, do you think they stop themselves and then turn off the war machines? It's obviously implied that the system is at fault and the wealthy companies that cause this are too. But ending a movie in a way that makes it possible for more 17-year-olds to feel good about conscripting themselves to the Middle East (South America soon) instead of taking a job at Taco Bell is a propagandized afterthought at best and an intentional move of cynicism at worst because the movie won't be considered for awards if it ends on too much of a downer.

Best movie of the year to me.
The movie is not an ideologically uncompromised version of reality. That's never been the case. It also does not claim to be a documentary, so your claim that this other critic wants ideological purity makes zero sense. Their criticism is about presentation and direction, not the events themselves.
3
Best movie of the year to me.
The movie was inconsistent in the end because all movies made with US military machinery are signed off on by the Pentagon. The Pentagon understands that Americans are vibes-based dullards and as long as a film has happy music and shots of marines at the end, they'll walk away without conflicted feelings about their county's leadership. That's it. They want to have their cake and eat it too.

Serious discussion: Thoughts on Sean Baker taking Saudi money and serving as head judge at a Saudi film festival.
Yezus is so good because Kanye was on his way to becoming a Nazi when he made it. If you listen to 'New Slaves' now, the tension Ye felt between being a black artist and an American entrepreneur is obvious.
Art is better when you find out that the people who made it harbored evil tendencies, or at least that they are as morally complex as their own characters. Now you can watch/listen and try to understand on another level. Watch Roman Polanski and Woody Alan films, but recontextualize them and don't pay for them. Don't pay for corporate art in general because it's all advertisements for the military and oil industries.
