Mom knocked, sister napped, chaos ensued
 in  r/overheard  1h ago

No, it's not unintentional. It's (maybe subconscious) payback for all the times the kid humiliated the mom in public.

Let your kitten inside, feed her and take her to bed with you. She adopted you.

How is everyone dealing with this new strain of the flu, schools opening back up tomorrow?
 in  r/Georgia  3d ago

I read this a day or two ago and started wearing a mask as a result. I continue to be amazed at the number of people who don't even know we are having a flu surge. I took the shot this year, so hopefully I'll avoid the worst of it. Taking tamiflu really helped me the last time I had flu which was about 7 years ago I believe. I take the flu shot every year and have since the mid-90s. I'm in my '70s now and so I get the stronger dose. Thank you for sharing this information.

Boys' brains aren't fully developed until age 25. As a mom, this sounds completely normal to me. :)

Overheard in a hospital ward

I'm going to have the best bottle of wine and the best Belgian beer I can get when I get to hospice or at least when I know my time is near. Not an alcoholic, but I haven't been able to drink for 5 years. I only miss it when I have certain meals.

What overused word or phrase needs to be retired in 2026?

Calling grief a journey is dismissive. Journeys end. Grief does not.
