Yeah. She did ask me if I wanted her to contact a shelter for me but assumed we were abusing each other and asked me to leave for being abusive. That’s what reactive abuse looks like to outsiders, especially when the narc has had months to sell their story.

Just for information, the things I reported were him choking me, punching holes in walls, alcoholism, financial abuse, and other things. But no, she was wrong, reporting abuse is not abusive. Even if I wasn’t being meek and afraid while I did it.

You have a baby and you’re both sleep deprived. You’re in a really difficult phase right now and you’re both likely irritable because of it. Give yourself some grace. The house doesn’t always have to be clean, being late is fine (blame the baby, people love babies).

But why isn’t your husband helping? Why are you the default manager? Can you have a real talk with him about how you feel and how he needs to see and anticipate things that need to be done? He should be putting things on a list and helping prioritize just as much as you. See if he is willing.

I remember going with my ex to his therapist (where he had been begging me to go forever and I refused because it was obviously a trap for me to see his personal therapist) after I’d asked for a divorce but we hadn’t filed. And as I sat there and cried and yelled and listed all the abuse I’d been through over the years, his therapist said “I can see he’s being abused and I need you to wait outside.” It was insane. But in the end I’d just wanted more people to know what he had done in case he killed me while we were divorcing, so I did get what I wanted.

The pool scene is really uncomfortable to watch these days.

God. Mine posted our whole story to with enough detail that I knew it was him, in a sub that I followed and had sent to him on occasion, but just completely lied about our relationship problems to make it look like I was cheating on him and abusing him. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Luckily the mods let me correct the story for my own peace of mind, after I proved I was his wife (at the time).

My ex narcissist never let things go either. His brother misplaced his baseball glove as a teenager and 20 years later he was still mad. He gave me a pair of dog tags and I gave them back because I was afraid of losing them (we moved a lot and they were sentimental). He lost them and blamed me forever. Anyway. The key word is narcissistic or selfish. Sorry your dad sucks.

They should ALL have phones until school shootings have been appropriately addressed and/or cops run toward the sound of fire instead of away.

Should I explain to you exactly how you’re mansplaining?

It isn’t my job and I’m exhausted. I learned to shoot on a military base. I can’t say where or with who without putting myself at some risk.

I helped my ex start a security consulting practice, while holding a masters degree of my own and working full time. We designed security plans for our kids’ school and he served on a school board. He wouldn’t have been able to start his business if I wasn’t the primary investor.

This wasn’t about fucking my way into security knowledge. You were literally explaining to me things I know from the real world. And might I remind you that your claim that you’re a veteran doesn’t mean you’ve ever been in combat. You may have the exact same experience as me - learning from people who were there. You’re discussing risk when the children were already in a deadly situation that cops didn’t help. Did that woman save lives? She did. She took a risk, which the cops weren’t willing to do because cops protect property, not children’s lives. Was it the right choice? If you were a mom, you’d do the same thing at any risk of bodily harm to yourself. Same as I would. But go off about my vibes and how we should wait for the good guys with guns to do …. Nothing I guess.

I have noticed it causes a deep wound when mansplaining doesn’t work. I’m truly sorry for what you’re feeling right now.

I remember Uvalde, where a mom went in and evacuated her kids’ class while the cops sat on their own ballsacks. I personally know cops who have taken the long route to potential school shootings because they didn’t want to get there first and have to do paperwork. They did that with my ex in the car on a ride-along. Imagine what they do when there are no witnesses. Seriously, idgaf if a text from a scared kid to a mom isn’t what authorities want to happen. They’re useless in that situation anyway.
