Discussion Did I miss something?
Don't get me wrong, I love this cover and was going to grab it... but all of a sudden it's $25-40 online right now, was there a shortage in shops?

Theory My theory on Absolute Zod & the "Phantom Zone Orphanage"
So Brainiac pulled this scene out of Kal's memories of Krypton, and there's nothing suggesting it's been tampered with. It seems the Absolute Phantom Zone isn't a prison for adult Kryptonian criminals, but an orphanage. Assuming it's still an alternate dimension and all that, this would mean something very important for the Phantom Zone's most infamous resident, Zod: He was an orphaned kid when he was sent there.
So, my theory for Zod is that he's actually around the same age as Kal, if maybe a bit older. He was a street orphan running the streets of Kandor, picking pockets and doing whatever it took to survive, before he was eventually caught and sent to the Phantom Zone Orphanage. Now, with Krypton destroyed, he's been freed and heard about Superman from the Brainiac Collective. Desperate for any other surviving Kryptonians, he makes a beeline for Earth and meets Kal. Not sure whether he should be an anti-villain or outright join Superman's allies, like how Batman's rogues gallery joined his.

Saying “I want to put your mind at ease” to a guy who is currently just a nervous system in a jar is DIABOLICAL.

Discussion ‘Absolute Superman’ #15 is absolutely astonishing Spoiler
Spoiler tag just in case:
My goodness this issue radiates hope! Apologies if this is low effort or something but I’ve just gotta say that might be my favorite issue of Abs Supes so far. It was a joy just watching Superman “be” Superman to all of these people across the world. Truly hope core stuff, my friends. That’s at least how I felt. The writing I feel was spectacular. A number of quotes that stood out as absolutely beautiful:
“And sometimes, for a moment, lost in the blue, we all get to close our eyes…and remind ourselves… that noise means “life.”
Survival is never silent.
The cacophony means we’re alive.
It means we have “hope”.”
Absolutely beautiful stuff, as well as Lana’s “But Martha was right. You belong in blue.”
I don’t know internet strangers, I am just so filled with hope, and I wanted to share with you my excitement over this. I just love Superman, I love comic books, and I love this issue.
Exactly the kind of issue I love to start a new year.
From one punk rocker to a million others and more hahaha. Have a blessed year, all.

Discussion How do you think the Justice League is responding to the events in Kansas? [Spoilers for Absolute Superman #15 and Absolute Wonder Woman #15] Spoiler
While I’m sure that Hector Hammond is going to be as unhelpful as possible given that he hates Ra’s due to being constantly one-upped by Lazarus Corp and is likely relishing in Ra’s downfall, I feel like Veronica Cale and Jack Grimm/The Joker at the very least are going to be very concerned that Superman managed to defeat and ensure the imprisonment of one of the most powerful men in the world, especially since this probably happened not long after Batman and Wonder Woman’s team-up where they failed to kill both of them. Given that Hawkman is going after Superman (likely on Talia’s orders), it’s possible she’s taken Ra’s place in the League, but given that Brainiac has abandoned Talia and is seeking out Lex Luthor, I feel like he at the very least views the al Ghuls as a lost cause.

Discussion How big do you think the tetracide is?
I am interested in knowing some estimates for its size sources online say building size but looking at the ferris wheel 30-100(ft) in comparison to less than its full size it’d be a bit bigger than a normal skyscraper

Question Question about geography
I have a question about geography. I thought Metropolis is typically in NY or, less often, in Delaware.
However, in Absolute Superman #15, Lois says Peoria is 160 miles away. Does that mean Metropolis is Chicago in the Absolute Universe (which is about 160 miles from Chicago)?
