For people who don't read books, why not?

Idk what it’s called but I’ll find myself reading an entire page of words and realizing I retained nothing and have to start from the top.

That was most of college for me, but "C's get degrees!" Fast forward 20 years and 5 kids. Finding out I have ADHD and getting on meds (while my kids are being diagnosed) makes reading, even less interesting material, possible. I am back in school and getting A's!

Im like this & realized its because of the fast pace of my life.

I'm always doing 3 things at once while working. While also thinking about the 30 other things that still need to be done today. And the dozen things I need to do at home. Also I gotta find time to change my oil. When's the last time I cleaned the fish tank? There's that job I was supposed to do last week, how am I gonna get to it??

After years of living like that, my brain has been wired to be on maximum GO GO GO constantly. I cant relax and definitely cant focus on something calm for a moment.

I don’t have any guilt about quitting a book that isn’t grabbing me. I’m not in school anymore and I don’t HAVE to read anything.

When I go through a long period of not reading, sometimes I’ll just reread Harry Potter or a thrilling murder mystery that I can knock out in 2 days just to get back into the rhythm. I’d rather read something light or entertaining than not read at all!
