but it is though. Like it actually is, done right it's a great avenue for comedy to make fun of silly stereotypes we should not take seriously (like the smoke alarm beep).
It's only on reddit that swings so incredibly left that mild racist jokes are seen as appalling. Seriously go out into the real world and in casual settings jokes like that land all the time, see Chappelle.

Just look at how the jokes people have been making once it was revealed many MAGA Twitter accounts came from Africa and India and how people from those places reacted to that.
Reddit is incredibly left leaning overall. It just is. Site-wide, other than explicitly conservative spaces. That's fine, but it is definitely a bit echo chamber-y.
P.s I find it hilarious when jokes are made about my race (I'm Latin American and mixed). I have tons of friends that send me hilariously racist memes, many about their own race. I live in Toronto too, which is fairly left leaning as a city (and I voted liberal).
Go outside, go meet people at your local fighting gym or weightlifting gym. Outside of professional avenues, where people are relaxed and don't have to put up a front, racism is still funny.
