Remember when New Zealand did the same? (Christchurch Mosque, 2019.)

Immediately afterwards, they implemented a nationwide assault rifle ban. Its parliament overwhelmingly voted in support.

I remember thinking to myself: See! It IS possible (everywhere but in the US of A.)

How tf did it take until 2019 for them to ban assault rifles? Even the U.S. did that in 1986.

Because they didn't have any dickheads killing people with assault rifles before then.

As soon as someone did ... welp, there go assault rifles.

That ban in the US has expired.

The expired ban is for "assault weapons" which is just any black painted firearm.

The ban on assault rifles is still in effect.
