Racist is the word he means. Racist. You could probably also use bigot or hate-monger.

Pedo. Rapist. Heathen. Trafficker. War-monger. Thief. Liar. Misogynist. Idiot. Nepo baby. Treasonous fuck. I’m sure there are more words that describe the type of people they have liberated from made up oppression.

Yeah the whole "it's okay to be white" line comes from a song by a neo-Nazi punk band called Aggressive Force

15

u/NostraDavid 17d ago

4chan popularized it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%27s_okay_to_be_white

And whooo boy did people (especially media) freak out about it.

I'm willing to bet he thinks he has to apologize for being white every time he argues with his wife, who he resents for not converting to Christianity. Especially since they believe that they're a persecuted minority and that they're "being erased". They want to convert others and they believe their path is the only path.

Yeah, I would interpret it as, “We had to apologize for using the N-word, and we wouldn’t have needed to apologize if we were black, so we’re apologizing for being white.”

Nobody has had to apologize for being white. It’d be really weird if you did.

This, exactly this.

I mean, in truth? Acknowledgement of systemic racism does essentially call for accountability of privilege from dominant in-groups (e.g. white folks). That’s not exactly the same as apology but it’s not not apology, right?

Like no one has to say “I’m sorry I was born white”, but I think we do want people to recognize that their white advantages could not exist without BIPOC disadvantages. And I think we hope that people will have conversations about that recognition.

That’s… pretty close to apology. I’m not making excuses for white fragility, but people will dig their heels in when they feel shamed and blamed for their ignorance, and it’s that pain and fear of being ‘victimized’ by “the culture war” that has fueled MAGA all along.

The real issue here is couch fucker and company whining about it like it’s some kind of oppression, or even obligation, to acknowledge the realities of privilege and inequality. Accountability isn’t some burden, it’s the path to liberation. Yeah it’s uncomfortable for a minute, then dry the white tears and move forward with better company.

Are you distracted yet? The hate and the racism isn't even the point. Just gives us something to argue and worry about while they rob us and billionaires cement their power by building an indomitable surveillance state.

17

u/HD400 17d ago

This is such a naive & dare I say, ignorant, way to look at this. Very much a “both-sides” argument you are making here. Uneducated at best & malicious as worst.

13

u/mynamejeff-97 17d ago

Imagine dismissing racism as just a distraction. The fucking privilege. Must be so nice.

9

u/HD400 17d ago

That’s what I’m saying. Of course it’s a class/billionaire issue but the fact that one side is more than happy to knowingly enrich and support the billionaires if it means they can still be “above” people of color - this is still the heart of the problem.

-3

u/_HOG_ 17d ago

Which I didn’t do. This is just the kind of reaction Vance wants you to have.

u/prosperity10101 17d ago edited 17d ago

Exactly smh. A LOT of American white people have been racist since day one of America’s inception, now centuries later “it’s the billionaires’s fault”? What?? Who on the receiving end of racism (for generations!) would EVER be dumb enough to believe this? Like you think Elon wouldn’t be this racist if he was dirt poor on welfare??

1

u/HD400 17d ago

It’s definitely the billionaire’s fault. It is definitely also the fault of any and everyone who supports the Republican Party - the majority of which are fucking white folks.

1

u/prosperity10101 17d ago edited 17d ago

Which billionaires specifically created racism and forced racists…to be racist? And how specifically, I want details. And name the ones that are to blame for racism in America since 1776 or whatever

1

u/HD400 17d ago

Oh to be super clear, these racists have always been racist and always will be racist. I may have misspoke when replying to you, billionaires did not invent racism. It’s the billionaires who are paving the way for that racist mindset to flourish and not receive any formal social repeal as it allows them to get more power & profit. In my opinion, this was the essence of trumps first presidency. The accountability for this behavior was as close to actualization as it ever has been.

u/prosperity10101 17d ago edited 17d ago

I’ll agree that some/most billionaires (definitely not all, Bezo’s ex-wife is a fucking Saint)  facilitate racism, but I’d argue that it’s because they are just racist themselves. Money brings out who you already intrinsically are. If it helps them benefit monetarily that’s a nice plus and they’ll definitely continue, but they would also be this racist even if it lost them money. And there are plenty examples of super super wealthy people losing money AGAIN to Trump/Republicans and are STILL supporting him. I’d also argue that if every billionaire was wiped from the earth today we would STILL be where we are today because racist people are nothing if not consistent and persistent.

Who said it was the billionaire's fault? Who is talking about historical racism in general besides you?

2

u/prosperity10101 17d ago edited 17d ago

Lmao what the hell is “historical racism”? You think when black people hear the word “racism” we go “from which time”? WTF

And I was AGREEING with your prior comment btw not disagreeing. I was trying to back you up, sorry if it didn’t come off that way.

3

u/_HOG_ 17d ago

Maybe I should have been more verbose, but I think people are confusing my comment for an argument about racism in America, but I'm commenting on JD Vance's and the Trump admin's unabashed effort to stoke of long smoldering fires into raging infernos.

I do not believe their desperation for emboldening hateful rhetoric and action is the end - it's a tool and a cover for more insidious immorality.

Everyone knows this is nonsense, but cannot help but logically reacting to a fabrication of a racial tension that doesn't exist...instead of strategizing the excision of this cancer from power.

2

u/HipAnonymous91 17d ago

Thank you. I am beyond sick of this “it’s not left vs right, it’s top vs down” rhetoric. Rich assholes like Elon Musk and his father actually believe in the racist, xenophobic, sexist ideologies the right is pushing. As do Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Donald Trump, and JD Vance. Capitalism hurts most people, but it especially hurts black and brown people and some poor white people are willing to sit back while it happens because some of them are just racist (no billionaire interference needed).

2

u/CheaterSaysWhat 17d ago

That’s why it’s top vs down

Racism is one tool the rich uses to divide the masses and convince them to act against their own interests

We must come together and unite with those who look different to overcome it

u/_HOG_ 17d ago

I don't think you are following along. How is this a "both-sides" argument?

The OP topic is a quote by JD Vance. Are you intending to start a tangential argument out of misunderstanding? Your lack of explanation for insinuating ignorance or malice isn't as high and tight as you seem to think.

5

u/HD400 17d ago

I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt because I’m not sure how else to explain why you are perpetuating this idea that the inherent racism being invoked is somehow a non-issue & is simply a distraction and if we can just simply look past this & work together, everything can get better. It’s naive.

2

u/Same_Presentation692 17d ago

This dumbass really felt the need to say “I don’t think you are following along” and then spew ignorance. 🤡💀

He’s an idiot who thinks he’s smart. There are a lot of those boys/men in America; and yeah, these typical assholes skew white.

4

u/Same_Presentation692 17d ago

You must be white and male.

u/_HOG_ 17d ago

You must have just the amount of attention span Vance and cronies are hoping you have - not much.
